Hill had some idea what Selûne was wondering, but he had no way to explain it.
The Undead had cleared such vast stretches of Neverwinter Valley so quickly because they had used their inventory bags with remarkable ingenuity.
That way, when they triggered a trap, they could at least be some distance away. If they were lucky, they survived... Hill wondered how much blood and misery it had taken to make them so clever.
Hill had also spotted bricks and tiles from the Succubus Queen's palace in the Giant's Spine Mountains. Someone must have joined in when people dismantled the palace to sell it, then either forgotten about the materials or decided the money was not worth the trouble.
After all, neither Hill nor the Space-Time Temple intended to buy those broken bricks and tiles unless they were sold for next to nothing. The Undead could only sell them to Toril merchants who dealt in such odds and ends, or to traveling traders.
Those small merchants had limited funds. Anyone who could produce ten thousand gold coins counted as wealthy, so many of the Undead could only try their luck in various cities and see who found a merchant with money to spare first.
Fortunately, the materials still had value, and merchants were happy to buy them at bargain-basement prices. Otherwise, Eunuch Lu, who had announced it as a great discovery, would have been cursed to death.
For people who got rich through daily quests, more than a thousand gold coins were worth the effort. But asking the PvP players of Black Rose and the Demon Cult—people who played for fun and often spent money buying gold—to scour the countryside for merchants willing to buy their goods was a bit much.
All they could do was trust their luck.
