Edna had lost interest in just how determined Amn was to court death, but she had a feeling that the Undead—or rather, William, who stood behind them—were very interested in these matters.
William was indeed an upright god, but that did not mean he would be so friendly toward a pair of black dragon brothers from Toril... being innately evil was sometimes a very exploitable trait.
Even Midnight, who clung to her so-called goodness, could at most drive the black dragon brothers away rather than kill them.
Tyr could probably do a little better than Midnight, but not by much.
Even the black dragons themselves had little room to struggle. Who had told them to belong to the evil alignment without the strength to fight back?
So Edna was not surprised by the black dragon brothers' choice. She merely thought they were an unusually shrewd pair of dragons.
Even her own Elvia probably could not make such a decisive choice... all those benefits would have been enough to dazzle the White Dragon Queen.
Yet the black dragon brothers had unhesitatingly chosen to surrender some of their interests and seize the chance to secure the backing of Aglaia City, which was inexplicably friendly toward them.
So she had accepted the brothers just as readily.
Honestly, although chromatic dragons were truly greedy and stingy, Edna felt she could come to terms with any of them who could communicate normally with her... at least they were much easier to understand than the people and gods surrounding Midnight.
Besides, a refusal was a refusal, and acceptance was acceptance. They would not signal refusal while acting as though they accepted... that sort of thing was a real headache.
Why did she still have to play guessing games when she already possessed greater divine power?
