Soft silver moonlight appeared above the Floating Castle, and Hill felt his soul, seemingly wounded by that roar, begin to heal.

He could not help looking up at the ever-growing Silver Moon. Just looking at her seemed to soothe his soul.

Selûne was using Silver Moon Power to comfort everyone on Toril. Here, the broadcast on the giant screen had subjected them to a double blow; elsewhere on Toril, people had felt only a slight shock to their souls.

A headache was unavoidable, of course. Even with Selûne holding everyone's souls steady through the Silver Moon, mortals had little resistance and might be in pain for days.

Those already near death, or weakened past a certain point, might even have been killed outright by that single roar.

"The Abyssal Will!" While Selûne was saving everyone, Shar sprang to her feet. The image on the giant screen shook violently, then went black.

"Uh... did we lose the cameraman?" Lathander asked.

"He's still there, but he's been affected," Shar said quickly. "I'll pull back a little."

When the screen lit up again, they finally understood why the Bottomless Abyss had suddenly gone mad.

Asmodeus had used the power of his ascension to lift Hell, severing all its connections to the Bottomless Abyss, and sent it into the Astral Plane.

That alone would have been Hell's business. But somehow, Asmodeus had hurled a boundless continent from the Chaos Sea straight at the Bottomless Abyss.

He even laughed as he played footage, over and over, of the Bottomless Abyss being knocked sideways into the Chaos Sea.

So once the Abyssal Will had brought its own realm under control, it came straight to his door to curse him out.

Asmodeus did not care in the slightest. He merely laughed wildly. "The Blood War is over!
