Those were Elminster's disciples and descendants. How could Shar possibly allow them to grow too powerful?

If someone came to uphold justice while her own followers and the Sun God's followers were locked in a desperate battle, Shar would probably turn hostile.

And for the moment, Shar did not want any direct confrontation with the new Goddess of Magic.

It was certainly not because of any old friendship or because she happened to like Edna... to the Lady of the Night, the only exception was William, along with the Undead attached to him.
