Hill could not yet tell whether Alexei knew what Aoskar was after. But he was certain the prince did not trust the Thunderwind Fey as much as he appeared to. The creature had appeared out of nowhere, claiming he could make Alexei stronger than Ismail.

Even so, Alexei had no intention of letting the opportunity pass.

Everyone who succeeded seized the opportunities within reach, good or bad. Deep down, they were all gamblers.

Hill, on the other hand, wanted to be careful even when he was eighty percent sure of something. At the first sign of trouble, he ran faster than a rabbit. Someone like him would probably never rule over anyone... Not that he wanted to, but by most standards, people like him were called pampered heirs.

It was not that they lacked ability. They simply stayed in their comfort zones and never challenged the impossible.

Even when they seemed to be taking risks, they had taken every possible measure to stay alive.

Hill could not approve of the enormous gamble Alexei was making. The prince knew the other side might be plotting against him and that he could genuinely lose his life, yet he insisted on going ahead. Aoskar had asked him to contact a Scarlet prince!

If that came to light, succession would be out of the question. He would be lucky to end up in a dungeon like his brother.

As long as Alexei stayed in Basia City, where Hill, the so-called Grand Sage, had no plans to leave, he was unlikely to face any real danger.

But he clearly refused to give up his ambitions.

The Ismail Family seemed to place great importance on keeping him alive, yet Alexei could tell they merely thought well of him. They had no intention of helping him.
