At the very least, Hill understood the importance of teaching according to aptitude.
Asking students to study hard was not the same as forcing them to learn things they had no desire to study at all.
So, if Joss truly wanted Russell to lend a hand this early on... they had originally agreed only to help each other with construction.
Construction work sounded troublesome, but with sufficiently detailed and accurate blueprints and a reliable enough construction crew, it was not actually that exhausting for the builders.
What Russell and Joss discussed were all sorts of magic circle models... the true core energy array of Dawn Tower had been drawn from some sort of core naturally contained within the Dawnstone.
As for the other arrays, they were basically standard formations, depending on what functions the builder of Dawn Tower wanted.
Even if they had been improved slightly, those improvements were not secrets.
As Dawn Chosen who greatly enjoyed young people, they were very willing to teach these hardworking children their specialty techniques.
Of course, those arrays were not something one could learn just by wanting to. Without genuine ability, one absolutely could not understand them.
After all, most of Lathander's followers were artists and sports enthusiasts, and their perspectives on improving those arrays were rather novel.
Though they could greatly hone one's magic circle drawing skills, learning them was basically not very useful... for Toril Mages, that counted as a certain degree of wasted time.
But Russell did not need to consider such problems.
He only needed to consider whether he wanted to go further in the field of magic circles. He did not need to think about complicated matters like time and money.
To Russell, it did not matter even if he could not use these arrays in the future.
