Cunlü slowly slid into the seawater. Green leaves spread beneath her feet, holding her above the surface.
The gods of Telashir were on fairly friendly terms, so both the Ocean Goddess and the Earth Goddess had given their approval to certain plants that could survive in water as well as grow on land.
The highly buoyant duckweed beneath her feet, for instance, fell under Aglaia's domain, but the temples of Telashir's Earth Goddess also gave it to their followers to use.
Both earth divine power and ocean divine power could spur its growth.
In fact, earth divine power had an easier time of it... even if Aglaia was the most unusual sea god, she was still a deity whose strength lay more in destruction.
But perhaps because Hill had influenced her so deeply, Aglaia's divine domains also included life-related laws, such as those governing marine life.
Marine plants, in particular, made her absolutely unique.
This was entirely different from the way other sea gods influenced marine plants and animals... Aglaia's divine power could make these marine plants grow healthily and develop rapidly.
Other sea gods supplied the nutrients these marine plants needed to grow... using other living creatures as nourishment to stimulate their growth.
Of course, for priests of the Earth Goddess, the greatest advantage of using these plants was that the ocean would accept them and supply them with energy... effectively giving her an earth divine power charger out at sea.
This ability was unique to their Telashir. Cunlü had searched carefully in Toril and found nothing like it.
Probably because Toril was a world that looked harmonious on the surface but was actually full of pitfalls. Nobody wanted to get entangled with anyone else.
Even gods who appeared to be on good terms actually kept their distance from
