What could Hill say?
Could he say that he understood perfectly well what William was up to?
Some things looked like large alliance-based organizations, seemingly allowing the weak to seek help or condemn powerful people who bullied others with their influence. But in essence, the result of crying out was merely to let everyone see clearly what they had lost, and ask certain people to pick someone else to exploit next time.
Of course, when any large organization was first established, its members would behave with a little more respect.
That made things much easier for the person in charge at the time... More importantly, no one was yet thinking of creating puppets, so the person placed before the public had to be outstanding enough to convince everyone.
And most importantly, even if he came from a certain nation, everyone could trust that he would not easily favor his own country except in matters of life and death.
Adrian was not only a Legendary Mage, but also someone whose debt of saving a life had been repaid, with the blessings and attention of a whole host of powerful figures resting on his head. He truly was the best candidate.
Even the Gods behind other nations, after considering Hill, who had been disgusted by the God of Nobles and William, would not think Adrian could still be so intimately close to Salar.
And besides, he could still be considered a Salar native.
After all, Adrian not only had a student surnamed Salar, but Falan and Hill's Mage Tower was still considered to be within Salar's territory.
At least for Aurelio, there was no need to think too deeply about all those messy considerations.
Hill simply had not expected Adrian himself to be willing to take on this task.
He frowned slightly.
