After William rose and left, the coronation ceremony came to an end. The players remained, buzzing with discussion, while the nobles stood silent, their faces dark with anger.
Falan left directly with Adrian and Hill. Mages all had good memories, so everyone on the viewing platform would remember Hill's face.
They could talk after the formal introductions. Almost all the mages left quickly.
At a time like this, no one intended to stay behind and make connections.
The three of them swiftly left the inner city. Falan carried them into the air and flew rapidly back toward his territory.
Falan brought the two of them down in front of Hill's Mage Tower. "There are some matters we need to discuss properly."
Liszt stood at the entrance. Seeing their grave expressions, he softly said, "Welcome back. Sir, should I prepare lunch?"
Hill nodded. "Bring it to the small sitting room."
The three of them quickly finished eating and returned to the study.
The moment Adrian sat down, he asked, "Teacher, what exactly is William relying on? Does he intend to completely overturn noble traditions?
"Even if this is the will of the Gods, the nobles are not without support!
"Once this news spreads, even nobles who had not intended to participate in the God War may take action!"
Falan looked out the window and said quietly, "I always believed that deity was hiding in another plane or some well-concealed secret realm.
"After all, only William can contact that deity directly. But whether that deity was there before or not, that deity should be in Salar now.
"No matter how powerful a Legendary is, they cannot defeat a god walking the earth.
"At an occasion like today's, several Legendaries all appeared. They sat behind William without moving."
He turned to Hill. "When you dealt with the Undead, you said a million of them wanted to come here, right?"
Hill nodded.
"Then those million people will probably all come in. The entire nation of Salar may not even have two million people.
"With so many followers of the Gods entering together, all of them professionals, how much faith would they provide?
"The Legendaries will not oppose such a powerful deity. How much does freeing noble slaves affect the Legendaries?
"The nobles who can understand this will wisely obey. As for those who cannot, no one will care if they die."
Adrian cursed aloud. "Am I the only unlucky one?"
Hill said, "Finish Saintess's Smile as quickly as possible, then immediately trade with your family.
"Take advantage of the time when they surely feel their lives are threatened and would rather live a little longer.
"Once the trade is done, tell them they had better listen to William. If they still refuse, bring one or two clever children back to Grandfather's territory.
"As long as your family line continues, it should not affect you too much."
Adrian nodded. "At a time like this, I can only preserve myself first.
"I'm just a minor Archmage. Look at how many Magi the Undead have! Even a hundred of me could not fight them."
Falan said, "The appearance of the Undead is also a good thing. In the previous God Wars, people like us would have been dragged in no matter where we hid.
"Once William gives an order like this, Great Knights and Sky Knights born into noble families will definitely not fight for him.
"Only the Undead will take part in the war. William merely needs enough commanders.
"The Undead are so numerous, and Magi and Sky Knights are emerging one after another. The battlefield no longer requires Salar's local high-ranking professionals.
"So what if the enemy has more people? How many troops can the nobles send? Can they produce a million professionals?
"And how many Legendaries can the Noble Temple send? Legendary Knights and Legendary Mages are entirely different concepts.
"How many Legendary Mages believe in Rose?
"A god walking the earth with several million believers would be invincible as soon as that deity acted."
Hill asked in confusion, "Will those two deities really not act? Could there be other hidden Gods who will act?"
"That is no longer something we need to consider. If that one truly intends to act personally, that deity should have taken precautions.
"In this war, we will probably only be observers.
"Adrian, if the Undead come to our territory, remember to take good care of them."
He looked at Hill. "You too. Keep some distance and try not to cause trouble."
Hill replied, "I have always followed nature's guidance. It is best not to offend the Undead."
Adrian said, "We are far away anyway. Nothing should happen."
Hill blinked. If Baldy and the others were right, these players would soon be stationed at the border.
They would have to possess a way to leave quickly or return to the royal capital. Touring Salar would surely be part of some players' schedules as well.
No player would remain in only one city. Especially when a million more were about to arrive, they would definitely be scattered across the land.
He simply had not known how William planned to solve the problem of such long travel.
But clearly, William must have prepared teleportation long ago.
Then the western Border City would certainly have a Teleportation Array as well.
There would not be few players wandering idly around their territory either.
Hill still offered a small reminder. "Since the Undead are Chosen of Space-Time, they may have some method of moving quickly."
Falan glanced at him. "Is that a feeling you got while communicating with the Undead these past few days?"
"When they spoke, they did not seem to think the distance from the capital to the territories they wanted to visit was far at all.
"They are not all Mages. They also spoke very casually about coming here."
Falan narrowed his eyes in thought, then nodded in agreement. "Adrian, when you return tomorrow, prepare everything concerning the merchant caravans.
"Prepare to open the library as well. There should be one or two junior apprentices who can be used."
"Yes, Teacher."
He then asked Hill, "What do you plan to do here?"
"Grandfather, stand by the window and take a look. Other than those two farms, all I have left here is forest."
Falan and Adrian stood by the window and looked into the distance.
The floor-to-ceiling windows of the circular study allowed them to see the scenery in three directions across Hill Territory.
Hill's territory had been completely occupied by towering trees.
Even the two plantations were surrounded by rings of fruit trees.
Adrian said speechlessly, "Are you a Sorcerer or a Druid? Has your Elven bloodline fully awakened?
"Earth Bears do not have such grand hobbies."
Falan glared angrily at Adrian. He never liked hearing the words Earth Bear.
Hill said helplessly, "Actually, there is not much difference.
"If I want to preserve the Wood Elemental Spirits, I cannot damage the forest. There are already several hundred Treants in my territory, and whenever they have nothing to do, they plant trees.
"As for the Earth Elementals, they prefer traveling through mountains and underground.
"Look at how lush my forest has grown. Almost every small stream has Water Elementals now.
"I no longer summon elementals.
"But perhaps their living environment is simply too good. Many of them have divided before.
"They are already showing signs of forming clusters.
"Once the Water Elemental Spirits and Wood Elemental Spirits form tribes, the few ordinary people remaining in my territory will have to be sent away.
"I am currently trying to develop puppets that can cook. Liszt's core already has several thousand recipes stored inside it."
Falan shook his head. "I cannot help you with this. You can only rely on yourself.
"If you need any materials, have Adrian find them for you.
"You do not need to worry about my expenses. I can definitely afford to support you now.
"Hill, you are my only blood relative. Spending some money on you is nothing.
"You have seen how many wealthy people there are among the Undead.
"In the future, I will make more constitution potions whenever I have time. Make more alchemical potions yourself as well.
"Put that huge alchemy workshop of yours to better use. Do not leave your potion shop empty.
"While the Undead are still here, accumulate more resources for yourself."
Adrian nodded in agreement. "Hill is simply too cautious."
Hill merely smiled without speaking. He had memories of several decades of life, after all, and could no longer comfortably live off his elders.
Adrian looked at him and shook his head, then asked Falan, "Will the shops around the square today be put up for sale?"
Falan shook his head. "Do not even think about it. Once the shops in that square appear, all the storefronts on Noble Street will be finished.
"William really knows how to strike at the root of the problem.
"When Salar was founded, two-thirds of the commercial avenue before the royal palace belonged to the royal family.
"Look at it now. Other than one-fifth of the area in front of the royal palace, all of it has been occupied by those great noble families.
"There have only been four kings since then.
"William intends to flip the table and rebuild the Royal Shopping Street.
"What can the great noble families do? This is a Legendary king.
"Who would dare use those old schemes of alliances and maneuvering against him?"
Falan suddenly spoke seriously to Hill. "I know you dislike slaves and sympathize with commoners.
"You approve of the Undead's theories. In your heart, you have already sworn loyalty to William.
"You also agree with that deity's teachings.
"Today, you absorbed so much Divine Dew. Most of the mages on the platform noticed.
"Many people have already understood your thoughts.
"But you absolutely cannot admit it aloud!
"You may let your compassion run wild, but never become the first person to betray the class you were born into!"
Hill nodded calmly. "Do not worry, Grandfather. I know how weak I am.
"I would never want to bring trouble to you!"
Falan stroked Hill's head. "You are a good child, but this world does not permit weak people to do as they please.
"For tens of thousands of years, more than one deity has wanted to change the miserable fate of commoners and slaves.
"This time is the most likely to succeed, but we cannot interfere.
"William's soul belongs to that deity. The souls of the Undead are not under this world's control.
"We have no way to do anything."
Hill could only nod silently.
Adrian said, "Do not worry, Teacher. Hill is a good child. He will not casually interfere in something this immense.
"I will also come see him whenever I can."
Falan shook his head. "Give me Saintess's Tears. I will make the potion.
"You should arrange matters in your territory. Once the potion is ready, hurry and trade it away.
"Before the situation becomes truly serious, arrange all possible retreats first."
Adrian nodded. "Do not worry, Teacher. My father and the others believe in that Majesty, after all.
"They can still receive some protection. At worst, they will all be expelled from the country. The family will not be wiped out."
Falan said, "Still, hurry. Do not leave behind even the slightest trouble.
"Who knows what may happen in the future?"
Hill watched the two of them, who were somewhat flustered, and did not dare say a word.
Falan stood up. "We will leave first, Hill. We will not have time to look after you for a while.
"You must cultivate properly."
Hill could only agree repeatedly. Too many things had happened, and no one could see where the future was headed.
Even Falan had become somewhat restless.
