A Speechless Victory

The Noble Coalition's Fire-Element Legendary Knight was reckless, but his endurance was formidable. A day and a night had passed, and he was still chopping away. Hill had slept soundly inside the soundproof ward. Alice had volunteered to keep watch at night and promised to wake Hill if anything happened.

When Hill got up in the morning, Alice said admiringly, "Legendary is amazing! He's slaughtering them like pigs. Too bad the Undead can revive."

Hill patted her little head. This cat could only see the most obvious surface of things. He should go upstairs and hear Falan's opinion instead.

Falan, however, favored the Undead more. "A Legendary's control is honed over centuries. These Undead have held out for an entire day and night without making a single mistake. That's truly remarkable."

Adrian also praised them. "They're extremely well-trained and orderly. They swapped out large groups several times in the middle. They probably went back to their own world to rest. Yet they never gave that Legendary Knight a single opportunity."

"Their command system has been maintained very well too," Falan said. "Other than that bald man never coming down, the Priest commanders switched from Xiao Liuliu and A Deer during the night, and now it's Old School Striking King again. The Mage commander has been hiding in the Mage Tower the entire time. I don't know whether he was replaced, but the fire barrier has never been interrupted. There hasn't been a single gap."

"Now it depends on who reveals a flaw first," Adrian said. "They've started rehearsing below again. No one came out at night, but they're practicing their positions in the morning. Every two or three hours, they can gather once."

"I studied them carefully. They're two different kinds of people," Falan said. "Those who can endure for long periods are all defending at the front. The ones preparing the wards probably don't like fighting or don't have much time. No wonder that Legendary couldn't tell. Their attitude really does make it seem like they're playing."

He looked at the clockwork Mage Tower again. "So there are two Mages commanding up there? They coordinate very well."

Hill understood as soon as he heard that. The Black Rose members who joined in person were all hardcore grinders. But there might be even more independent players in the city than Black Rose members. They had to find a way to mobilize them.

To command independent players, they definitely needed a command group of at least eight people.

What puzzled him was that there couldn't possibly be only independent Mage players here. There had to be Knights and Swordsmen too. Where were they? What were they doing?

The independent players had to be organized, but they would not risk their lives alongside the Black Rose Family members. Since Falan said they obeyed orders so strictly, the defenders on the walls were probably all Black Rose members and their allies.

Black Rose had many Swordsmen as well, yet none had appeared. A war in a game would never make an entire class simply disappear.

There was also another class, the least numerous one: Sorcerers.

Hill had never seen them before. They were the players' Easter egg class, the class that the high-level players chatting in Hill Territory had cursed the God of Luck over countless times. It was a class that could only randomly appear when creating a character for the first time.

It was said that fewer than five thousand out of 1.5 million players had obtained the class. They were an alternative kind of summoner. Although they could only summon the God of Space-Time's pet, a Crystal Dragon, they normally used spells such as Spatial Severance. No one had ever explained what the Crystal Dragon was actually for.

Hill suddenly stood and searched inch by inch.

Adrian asked in confusion, "What are you looking for?"

"The Swordsmen aren't outside. They must all be here too."

"Perhaps they're inside the houses, guarding against the walls being breached?"

"If that were the case, someone would definitely be standing outside to watch. The Undead can't stay still."

"I'll look too."

"Uncle Adrian, have you seen any Sorcerers?"

"No."

Even Falan stood up curiously. These Undead really had many tricks. "We didn't see Sorcerers when they fought among themselves either."

Hill silently thought, Are all five thousand over with William? There must be an extremely compelling reason. Players aren't that easy to order around.

Hill and the others carefully searched from the air.

That Legendary Knight was still tirelessly at work, his expression resolute and his will unwavering.

Then unusual music suddenly erupted from within the Undead city.

Hill lowered his head to look at the players swaying along with the music. Was this Might and Majesty from another world?

This world had probably never heard singing so overflowing with feminine allure. Falan and Adrian were both startled.

An Undead female Priest named Cunlü wore a creamy white bodice gown. As she spun and swayed, she displayed an exquisite waist-to-hip ratio, her movements full of soft feminine charm. Combined with the hollowed-out back, she was immensely seductive. Standing atop the city wall with a sound-amplifying artifact in hand, she let out a melodious moan. Every breathy sound made Hill blush furiously.

Hill had originally thought they were playing an inspiring battle song, but this lady showed him just how naive he was.

Then Hill saw a massive silver flash slash directly at the distracted Legendary Knight.

After a thunderous boom, the Knight crashed heavily into the ground. Amid enormous cheers, the Magi on the walls ran to the front, raised their staffs, and cast Earth Rift at the same time.

As the Legendary Knight sank underground, the Magi leaped over the city walls and ran toward the enormous fissure. They pointed their staffs at the ground. A person flew out from the Mage Tower and shouted, "Countdown! Three, two, one, release!"

More than ten thousand Meteorfalls were unleashed. Everything within ten miles rumbled and shook. Meteorfall was the spell most commonly used by Earth-Element Law Advanced Magi, summoning hundreds of massive stones from the sky to explode and crash into the ground.

Hill closed his eyes. That Legendary was dead for sure.

When he opened them again, a hundred-meter-high mountain of boulders stood before him.

Falan stood by the window, watching the Mage commander. "Rainfall on the Mortal Realm?"

Rainfall on the Mortal Realm hovered in the air, his staff pointing toward the panicked Noble Coalition. "Surround them! Those who surrender will not be killed!"

The Knights on the walls had already assembled outside the city gates. They summoned their warhorses and mounted them. Their shields had all been put away, and they held lances in their hands, ready for a Knight Order Charge.

Just as the panicked Noble Coalition tried to flee, they discovered tens of thousands of Swordsmen appearing on both flanks. Large numbers of Knights were also circling around from both sides toward their rear.

Looking at the main force that still wanted to resist, Rainfall on the Mortal Realm, hovering in the air, gestured toward Perfect Baldhead at the head of the Knight Order.

With a shout of "Follow me!" the bald man led more than ten thousand Knights in a charge without hesitation.

Ten thousand horses thundered forward, lances bristling. The Noble Coalition Knights at the front became wheat before a scythe, and all of them fell.

The Knights in the rear also spread out and attacked inward. These soldiers, who were not even Knights, barely had the strength to raise their weapons.

Adrian watched the Swordsman battalions, clad in light armor and wielding single swords, charge straight into both sides of the Noble Coalition. He clicked his tongue. "It's my first time seeing so many Swordmasters. Their killing power is truly immense."

"Those who surrender, lie down! Throw down your weapons!" Perfect Baldhead shouted from the center of the battlefield.

"Those who surrender, lie down!" Tens of thousands of Undead shouted in unison.

The Noble Coalition completely collapsed. They threw away their weapons and lay sprawled messily across the ground.

Perfect Baldhead and the Knights formed a circle around the surrendered enemies. The Swordsmen walked in and collected the weapons from the ground.

Hill let out a long breath and slowly sat back in his chair.

Alice jumped into his arms and asked softly, "So many people died?"

Hill buried his face in her long fur. "Yes! So many people died. Even the Legendary died!"

Adrian said, "War has always been this cruel. If the Undead had lost, the ones who died would have been the people of Salar."

Falan said, "Hill! Don't be so soft-hearted. Look at the Undead below. Most of them aren't much older than you!"

Hill could only brood to himself. They must have Mosaic. I want one too!

Rainfall on the Mortal Realm watched the Swordsmen withdraw one after another after cleaning up the battlefield. He raised his staff and began chanting the spell, "Earth Spikes." The Magi flying in the air alongside him used dense Earth Spikes to construct an enormous birdcage, imprisoning the surrendered Noble Coalition within it.

Adrian said, "They really like spells used collectively."

"Where would we find so many Mages to cast together? Naturally, we pursue the power of individual spells." Falan shook his head. "Who knows what this world will become."

Adrian suddenly said, "The bald man is waving at us. It seems like something is up."

Falan silently guided the ship down until it hovered above Perfect Baldhead's head.

Adrian walked onto the deck and asked, "What is it? Do you need help with something?"

Perfect Baldhead laughed loudly. "Mr. Adrian! We won! I want to hurry over to see the King's side! I wanted to ask whether you're going too. Could we catch a ride?"

Adrian said, "I'll ask my teacher what he plans to do."

Falan said directly, "We can take twenty people. Hill and I will go downstairs. Leave the hall to them."

After saying that, Falan went downstairs. Seeing that Hill intended to linger, he said, "Come directly to my room later!"

"Yes, Grandfather. I'll say hello and come over."

The laughing players boarded the ship, clicking their tongues in admiration. When they saw Hill standing by the entrance to greet them, A Deer immediately asked, "How much would it cost to build a ship like this, Mr. Hill?"

"Hmm... at least ten million crystal stones."

"So expensive?" Demon Sword shouted.

"If you built it yourselves, it would probably be much cheaper," Hill said very sincerely. "An Alchemist like my grandfather charges a great deal for each job."

"Forget it! We'll wait until there are more professional players in the future," Perfect Baldhead said slowly. "The game will definitely have an official price."

Hill could only pretend not to understand. "There are so many of you. Someone will eventually have talent for alchemy."

Hill looked at Cunlü, who stood beside Old School Striking King. The lady still wore that long dress, though she had put on a Priest's robe over it. She had her arm linked through a Knight's as she bragged to Old School Striking King. "Look at me! Aren't I amazing? It was all thanks to me!"

"Pah! What's so impressive about running into an old virgin?" Old School Striking King rolled her eyes dramatically. "Nanfeng can really put up with you!"

"Of course. He's my husband!"

Hill silently watched the warrior named Nanfeng. He was gazing tenderly at his wife as she bragged with her head held high.

"My grandfather is still waiting for me," Hill said to the players. "Please help yourselves to the food on the table. I'm going downstairs."

Alice had already run to the bottom of the stairs before the players came in. Hill walked down and picked her up, hearing Adrian summon more chairs and say to the players, "Please make yourselves at home. We'll be downstairs. If you need anything, ring this bell. I'll come up."
