Today, after getting Laira's permission, she had even boarded Black Rose's magic ship and come to Hidden Town with her friends.
There she saw the Mithril Elves, whom few people in the world had ever seen. They really were beautiful... especially the ones sitting in the shops. Edna's first glimpse of them took her breath away.
None of the Mithril Elves came close to Lord Hill in looks, yet the sight of them still stunned her.
Was this what her friend meant when she said that seeing so many beauties of the same type together could be overwhelming?
Her friend Old School Striking King loved the Mithril Elves' clothes. Edna could tell she admired their beautiful faces too, but she had a steady partner. Though that partner had not come to Toril, Old School Striking King did not want to upset her over something so trivial.
Cunlü, who stood beside her, said Old School Striking King was only worried someone would tell on her... and she was right to worry. If Old School Striking King dared do anything, Cunlü would be the first to report her.
Edna sometimes did not understand why Old School Striking King and Cunlü enjoyed teasing each other so fiercely, but she could tell they were close. Their families even knew each other. In Toril, that made them very close companions indeed.
Edna felt a little regretful. She and Old School Striking King were close too, but their friendship was mostly the older-sisterly Old School Striking King looking after her. Edna was still too weak to say she could look after her friend in return.
She quietly resolved to study hard with the teacher in her dreams.
