This crystal was one of them. No, it should be called Brilliance Crystal: a high-quality deposit found at the bottom of an ordinary crystal vein, mainly used to store psychic energy. It could store sound only if it happened to form beside Mourning Purplegold, a sacred ore that dealt terrible damage to undead creatures. That ore was vanishingly rare and was usually made into holy symbols for high-ranking priests.
Hill stared at the crystal sphere, speechless. Why would Bane's followers have something connected to Mourning Purplegold? Did they make a habit of removing threats?
