Before, Hill might have thought stopping Bane's followers mattered more than helping Mirabar. But once he realized why the Space-Time Divine Artifact cared so much about those Dwarves, he changed his mind.

The necromancers saw Mirabar as bait to draw Luskan's defenders away. To the Undead and Hill, though, that bait was what they truly wanted.

It would not matter even if the necromancers escaped because of it.

The Undead soon launched a second frenzied sortie. Naturally, some players took the chance to log in again.

The Half-Orcs were not unprepared, but their goal had been to draw troops away from Luskan. Their resistance was halfhearted, and the Half-Orcs on the mountains came down noticeably slowly, leaving another gap in the battlefield.

This time, however, the Undead who charged out circled the city and soon returned through Ice City on the east side. At some point, the Undead had opened a gate in its wall of solid ice.

The Undead who had taken the chance to log in had not returned. But unless someone noticed them, it would look as though every Undead who had charged out earlier had come back.

Unsure what was going on, the Half-Orcs watched from the mountains for a while.

That gave the hundred or so Dwarves escorted by the Undead an easy path into Luskan. Apart from a dozen or so female Dwarves dressed as warriors and priests, the rest were young children.
