"How should I put this?" William said slowly. "The Mithril Elves are on good terms with the Terrasil Elves. They've formally become allies, and they hope the Terrasil Elves will visit their astral fortress when the passage to the Astral Plane reopens."
"Tch. Did those brainless astral creatures beat them stupid?" Arveiaturace sneered. "They can't even handle Half-Orcs... and they think they can deal with the pirates in the Outlands? There are more of them than locusts!"
"The enemies the Mithril Elves face at their extraplanar fortress, Sildeyuir, are the Nilshai," William said gently. "No wonder they've had such a hard time."
Arveiaturace stiffened. She remembered those disgusting creatures: a race of wormlike Sorcerers from the Ethereal Plane, as numerous as worms, too...
She thought it over calmly. White Dragons sometimes ate bugs that were pretty ugly themselves... They probably wouldn't be disgusted by those things. And Edna wasn't going anyway!
Deciding it had nothing to do with her, Arveiaturace quietly lay down and left the rest to Edna.
As for having White Dragons live in the Hidden Forest, she had no objection. It wasn't as if White Dragons lived on barren icefields because they wanted to.
It didn't matter if some White Dragons wanted nothing but freedom. From what Arveiaturace knew of her kin, they couldn't make up more than a tenth of the population.
And Arveiaturace didn't care about those ambitious White Dragons anyway. They had hatched from the dragon eggs the Nine-Faced Dragon God had sent down in the Year of Thunder, and had reached adulthood within just a few years.
Perhaps their older bloodlines and divine blessing explained why they grew so quickly. They were a little smarter than ordinary White Dragons, too... Maybe the Dragon God had given them older inherited memories. Whatever the reason,
