Hill could not quite make sense of the relationship between Shar and Selûne.

He would never believe they had put all their old grudges behind them.

Sometimes their conversations sounded perfectly calm, yet Hill could still sense the murderous intent beneath the words. When they actually fought, it sent a chill down his spine.

But they were no longer mortal enemies in quite the same way, either. Shar had said nothing about it, but after their first meeting at Hill's place, the Harpers had received an interesting message: the Night God Temple no longer required its members to kill a Silver Moon priestess to earn a promotion.

Otherwise, Selûne would never have called them sisters again.

She would have learned about it before anyone else.

Whether Shar had decided to avoid a clash now that Selûne had regained Greater Divine Power, or whether she was plotting something else, her stance at least ensured that the sisters would not immediately fight to the death whenever they met.

Hill could not see where the two of them were headed. All he could do was watch his own words and actions. It was also why he had kept Lynn and Falan away from the Floating Castle.

Otherwise, the Floating Castle would have been a wonderful place for a mage right now. Primordial Power was so dense that Hill could feel his magic slowly growing just from sitting there.

Even the sleeping Oberon had benefited. At the very least, he would no longer be helpless before Queen Titania.

Perhaps because Selûne had left an incarnation in the Floating Castle for longer than Shar had, the Primordial Power filling Hill's Castle still leaned toward light.
