Green Straw Hat Troll
"I really couldn't hold them off..." Lotner looked conflicted. He was not a pure Warrior, especially not a Shield Warrior, so of course he could not block them.
He was a Demon-Hunting Ranger, and the light-element battle aura he cultivated dealt considerable bonus damage to Dark Creatures.
But killing required skill. Charging in headfirst would definitely get him killed.
Fortunately, Eric defused the situation in time. He pointed at the figures hiding in the shadows below. "There are thirteen Trolls within our sight. Five are Intermediate Trolls, while the rest are Low-tier Trolls."
"Right now, they're all gathered together, picking at their feet and drinking water. It's not a good time to strike. If we want to hunt them, we'd better be patient and see whether there are any more Trolls nearby."
"We can wait. It's not like we're in a hurry." William glanced at the sky. They were facing Trolls, Dark Creatures, but darkness was not only their ally—it was also the companion of Elves and killers.
Rainbow Lake covered a vast area, roughly sixty square kilometers, three and a half times larger than present-day Dawn Town.
Besides Trolls, this place was also home to some powerful magical beasts.
They had come along the eastern mountain range and were now hidden halfway up the eastern peak, directly above the Troll cave. They seemed to hold the advantage, and they had not been discovered. They could launch a surprise attack.
But fighting these thick-skinned Trolls was definitely not as simple as it looked.
If they failed to kill them in a single blow—that was, if the assassination failed—they would be locked in a stalemate. If they were surrounded, this would no longer be Assassin's Creed, but Warrior's Creed...
The bloodline potential of William's group of six was extremely high.
Leaving aside the Trolls' bloodline potential, those creatures were naturally tougher and had more health. Their average health exceeded the group's by at least two or three thousand...
Their spiked clubs were especially troublesome. As heavy weapons, they carried crushing damage based on Strength. If a block failed, they would not only lose health. If they were unlucky enough to get hit in the head, it would be a fatal strike.
There was no helping it. The more enormous a monster's physique, the more outrageous its health pool. Trolls had at least two or three thousand more health than them, and that was only because William's group had such high bloodline potential.
If Trolls were compared to ordinary soldiers, the gap would be far more than two or three thousand—at least six or seven thousand...
Otherwise, how could Trolls have become one of the Dark Faction's siege armies?
The six crouched silently in the grass, watching in secret without making a sound. It had to be said that these fellows were perverse. Every now and then, they would stare at a female Troll...
There was nothing to be done about it.
Only the strongest leader of a Troll tribe possessed the female Trolls.
The other male Trolls could only watch and could not touch them. Still, the leader did not care if they fantasized now and then. He would even look on with satisfaction, because the fact that his subordinates only dared to admire his women from afar without defiling them highlighted his own strength.
However.
This leader had not noticed that one of his wives was batting her eyes at the male Troll who had been "pouring into her."
Obviously,
The brightest green atop one's head often required only the simplest form of cheating...
Whenever the Troll leader went out hunting, his wives did not mind letting those fine young fellows... As for whether some of them might be their sons, ahem...
The sky gradually darkened.
When midnight arrived.
The Trolls still had not discovered the silver above their heads.
Concealment was simple for Elves. They possessed the ability to blend into forests and nature.
But in cities, an Elf's abilities were not nearly as obvious. They merely appeared exceptionally agile, unless they were Assassins...
Yet for Eric and his son, Alec, concealment seemed innate.
The two sat there, and before anyone realized it, they gave off the feeling that they had vanished into thin air. Or rather,
Whether in a forest or a crowded city, they could conceal themselves at any time.
For players to attain such an ability,
First, they had to change class to Assassin.
Second, unless they found a hidden class beforehand, they had to choose the dark element during their level-forty awakening if they possessed a dark-element battle aura talent.
Third, they had to choose Dark Mage as their secondary class, not Black Warlock...
Overall, an Assassin who could not use dark magic could only be considered a Berserker.
Dark magic was not a hidden class, only a rare one. With enough connections, anyone could certainly learn it. It just depended on whether players had the perseverance and the money.
But it was easy to imagine players cleverly avoiding the dark element in order to look cool.
They would instead choose dazzling fire-element battle aura or blinding lightning-element battle aura, their glowing aura practically screaming that they had come to kill someone.
The arrival of darkness
also allowed William's group of six to notice a few things.
There were fifteen Trolls in total. Two little Trolls with unknown fathers had just returned to the cave to sleep and did not reappear.
Night was when Trolls hunted. At that moment, those perverts finally split up.
The leader wearing the green straw hat personally selected five rather unwilling Trolls and took them out to hunt.
The situation was...
The moment the Troll leader left, those creatures that had been exchanging glances began to go into heat.
One Troll standing watch had barely seen the leader's figure disappear before he could no longer restrain himself. Howling loudly, he rushed into the cave...
"Now's the time to strike. The Troll leader has taken away his strongest subordinates, leaving only some Low-tier Trolls." Lotner narrowed his eyes and immediately prepared to act.
William merely chuckled. "Hold on. Why don't we lure the Troll leader back?"
"Good idea, but even if you lure him back, how can you be sure the Trolls will really kill each other?" Lotner asked, somewhat puzzled.
At that,
William, Eric, and Alec all looked at him in surprise.
Their expressions seemed to say, You could find a wife and try it yourself...
Lotner gradually fell into thought, wondering what he was thinking about.
After all, Elven couples stayed together for life. Even if either one died, the other would never remarry.
Single dogs like Lotner, Nock, and Norton could not imagine it for the time being.
"That's simple. Leave it to me." Alec took on the task. Ignoring the others' astonishment, he silently leaped down beside the cave entrance.
Then, under everyone's dumbfounded gazes, he entered the cave. Not long after, he quietly came back out without a single Troll noticing him.
But William saw that he had swiped something. It was an article of clothing from a female Troll's lower body. One could easily imagine how pungent its scent was...
Alec then sprinted in the direction the Troll leader had gone!
William silently glanced at Eric. "That's quite a move..."
"Ahem, basic stuff, basic stuff. Everyone sit down, sit down." As the father, Eric could only calm everyone down and have them sit back in the grass.
The effect seemed remarkably obvious.
In less than five minutes,
the two little Trolls could not stand the foul wind inside the cave and ran to the lakeside to play with mud. Then they saw their bloodshot-eyed "father" already sprinting back!
Normally, there would have been an adult Troll standing watch here.
However.
With more than countless affairs behind them, they had long known that the leader would be gone hunting for a long time every time. By the time he returned, every scent would be covered by filth and urine, and every mess would be buried beneath mud.
Unfortunately.
The leader had returned early.
"Aaaaaah!"
"I'll tear you little bastards apart!"
That's right.
Trolls could speak.
