Background

Zhou Momo is the youngest child and only daughter of Zhou Miao and Zhao Tieying. With Zhou Yan and five older cousins preceding her, she is widely doted on as the Zhou family's darling. Her parents sometimes carry her in a back basket while working at the cattle-slaughtering site because she is still too young to leave home alone 2 13.

When Zhou Yan begins treating her with affection after reopening the restaurant, Momo quickly becomes attached to him. She watches him cook, helps carry firewood, enthusiastically taste-tests his food, and even offers him her entire savings—a crumpled five-cent note—in exchange for more noodles 2 3.

As Zhou Erwa Restaurant prospers, Momo becomes a familiar presence at its entrance. Her cheerful greetings and compliments charm Textile Factory workers, while her sincere enjoyment of Zhou Yan's food attracts passersby into the restaurant during Wang Laowu's price war 9 14.
