Once the plan was settled, Lin Hai wasted no time putting it into action, as always. He immediately took out his phone, found the number labeled "Mr. Wilson (Kingpin)," and dialed.

The call connected after a few rings. A deep, resonant voice came through the receiver. It carried its usual authority, but there was a rare note of ease in its tone.

"Lin? What a rare treat, you calling me first. Has the Los Angeles sunshine been so pleasant that it reminded you of your old friends in New York?" Kingpin sounded faintly amused.

"Mr. Fisk, you sound like you're in a good mood." Lin Hai smiled as he replied. "The sunshine here is lovely, but I've been thinking even more about my friends in New York—and you, our major investor. The studio couldn't have grown this quickly without your early support."

"Ha! Spare me the pleasantries." Kingpin's laughter was rich and deep. "You youngsters have ideas and drive. You earned your success yourselves. Now, what do you need? Surely you didn't call just to report your earnings?"

Lin Hai's smile faded as he got to the point. "There is something I need help with. Do you remember that man we mentioned when we talked before... Daredevil, from Hell's Kitchen?"

Kingpin went silent for a second or two, then answered with a probing note in his voice. "Matt Murdock? That troublesome blind lawyer? I remember. What, have you gotten yourself into trouble in Hell's Kitchen?"
