After eating and drinking their fill, Lin Hai and the others slowly made their way back to the villa along the streets of Brooklyn Heights.
The four of them sat on the living room sofa for a while after returning. Once everyone had rested enough, Lin Hai stood up and opened a Portal to Kamar-Taj nearby.
From Lin Hai to Harry, everyone passed through the Portal in turn. In the blink of an eye, the wooden floor beneath their feet became stone slabs, and their noses filled with Kamar-Taj's uniquely cool, crisp air.
Just as on his previous visits to Kamar-Taj, the first thing Lin Hai did was look for Master Hamil. After all, The Ancient One's whereabouts were simply too elusive.
Master Hamil, however, was completely different. Unless something unexpected came up, he was most likely in Kamar-Taj's library, where he often sat for an entire day, from dawn until dusk.
When they arrived at the library, they indeed found Master Hamil there.
He sat behind a broad wooden table with an ancient-looking tome of magic spread open before him. Its pages were dark yellow, and their edges were badly worn.
Seeing all four of them arrive together, Master Hamil assumed something had threatened Earth's safety. After all, Peter and Harry normally would not come here with Lin Hai and Gwen unless something was wrong.
"Master Lin Hai, Master Gwen, and Peter and Harry. What brings you here?"
Seeing Master Hamil's expression turn serious, Lin Hai hurriedly explained, "Master Hamil, there's no need to worry. Nothing has happened outside. The four of us came to see you about something personal."
Master Hamil's expression relaxed. "Oh? Let's hear it."
