When he saw Tifa pull out the pager he used to contact Captain Marvel, Nick Fury immediately panicked.
That thing was his only way of contacting Captain Marvel. If Loren took it away or destroyed it, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Captain Marvel was the strongest being he had ever encountered so far. Even Hulk was no match for her, at least in his opinion.
Besides his anxiety, he was also utterly baffled!
No one besides Captain Marvel and himself should have known that he could use this pager to contact her.
It was a secret between the two of them, yet that kid Loren seemed to know everything. It was simply inconceivable!
"You're this nervous over a tiny pager? Looks like Boss was right. This thing really is important to you!"
"No, Miss Tifa. I'm nervous because this was a keepsake left to me by my late father!"
"A keepsake from your father? Who are you trying to fool? Where would pagers have come from back then?"
As Tifa spoke, she casually flung her arm and sent Nick Fury flying, then slipped the pager into her pocket.
"My boss said you can't have your cake and eat it too. Since you want Hulk's combat strength so badly, Boss will hold on to this for now.
When you're willing to offer something better someday, like the Tesseract or something, my boss will naturally return it to you."
After saying that, Tifa ignored Nick Fury's reaction entirely. She leaped into the air, turned into a streak of light, and flew away.
