The spatial rift closed.
Chu Hang opened his eyes. Everything around him was pitch-black.
There were no planets, no stars, and barely any cosmic dust. The nearest star system was three thousand light-years away. By the time that little light reached here, it was practically nonexistent.
It had taken him two days to choose this place. The Law of Space had swept across the edge of the Milky Way before finally locking onto this stretch of void. It was far from the shipping lanes, showed no signs of civilization, and the Kree Empire's exploration fleets would never come this way.
Wanda floated in the void, a film of Chaos Magic forming around her.
Chu Hang raised a hand.
Nine laws surged from his palm.
The Law of Space carved out a spherical region over a hundred meters in diameter. The Law of Force followed, compressing and reorganizing the quantum foam inside the region to build a material foundation. The Law of Reality infused it, redefining the compressed foam into solid matter.
Black rocks emerged from the void.
Layer after layer piled up, forming a floating meteorite.
The Law of Life brought temperature and circulation to the rocks. The Law of Time carved protective runes across the surface. The Mental Law wove into a net covering the exterior. The Law of Death buried a seed in the core—if anyone forced their way in, the entire meteorite, intruder included, would be erased.
Three minutes.
The Meteorite Base was complete.
Chu Hang landed on the surface. The rock split open automatically, extending a passage downward. He turned around. "Come in."
Wanda followed him down. The inner walls were smooth, glowing with a faint blue light. After passing through three layers of defensive structures, they reached the core area.
There were two spaces here.
