Background / History

Xiao Wu is a reborn soul beast who retains memories of her previous life. At the Lake of Life, she reunites with Daming and Erming, who remember sacrificing themselves to help Tang San rescue her. She insists that their deaths were meaningful because Tang San became a Dual God, defeated Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue, and saved the continent. Expecting to meet Tang San again at Nuoding City Junior Spirit Master Academy, she dreams of rebuilding the Shrek Seven Devils and repeating their former journey. 47 48

Ye Yuan’s expedition reaches the Lake of Life before this reunion can occur. Yue Guan and Guimei immobilize Daming and Erming with the Netherworld Static Domain, leaving Xiao Wu exposed. Ye Yuan uses the Primordial Chaos Bell to show her Tang San’s crippling and abduction by the apparent Tang Chen, then attacks her faith in Tang San by claiming that his relationship with her and her brothers was calculated exploitation. 48 49

When Ye Yuan threatens Daming and Erming, Xiao Wu submits to save them. He brands her soul with a Primordial Chaos Bell mark capable of erasing her soul at his command and designates her as the scabbard required to draw the Asura Divine Sword. 50

Appearance

Xiao Wu initially appears as a young girl with rabbit-ear hair ornaments at the Lake of Life. After her capture, she is repeatedly presented in clothing and restraints imposed by Ye Yuan’s faction rather than her own choice.

Her resistance is shaped by that loyalty: she initially rejects Ye Yuan’s claims about Tang San and privately clings to the hope that Tang San will survive, become a god again, and rescue her. 49 50 51

Repeated coercion and visions of Tang San’s condition progressively break this confidence. Forced Submission

Ye Yuan gives Xiao Wu a choice between submitting as his scabbard or watching Daming and Erming be tortured and killed. She kneels to protect them and receives the soul mark, while Daming and Erming are spared only because Ye Yuan has further uses for them. 49 50

Servitude in the Star Dou Great Forest

Xiao Wu is forced to serve Ye Yuan while Daming and Erming are compelled to capture the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. When they return gravely wounded, Ye Yuan refuses to release her, clarifying that he promised only to spare their lives. 51

During Ye Yuan’s absorption of the tiger’s soul ring, the spatial link between Xiao Wu and Tang San exposes his starvation and degradation in the Capital of Slaughter. The vision devastates Xiao Wu and dismantles her belief that Tang San is safely preparing a counterattack. 52 53 54

Captive of Spirit Hall

Upon returning to Spirit City, Xiao Wu remains Ye Yuan’s collared maid while Daming and Erming are chained to his carriage. She submits to protect them, serves Ye Yuan directly, and is publicly displayed as evidence of his domination over the former rulers of the Star Dou Great Forest. 58 60

She later encounters former Shrek companions Oscar, Ma Hongjun, and Zhu Zhuqing while in captivity. Oscar and Ma Hongjun are horrified that she calls Ye Yuan “Master,” while Zhu Zhuqing’s voluntary submission further emphasizes the collapse of their former group. 63 65 66

Sea God Island
