Background / History

Tang Hao is a hidden Title Douluo and Tang San's father. Early in the story, Lan Yu treats Tang Hao as the principal danger connected to Tang San, while Xiao Wu is warned that Tang Hao already knows her true identity as a hundred-thousand-year spirit beast. Xiao Wu consequently plans to escape both Tang Hao and Tang San when an opportunity arises 2 3 4.

After Lan Yu reveals five hundred-thousand-year soul rings in Soto City, Tang Hao secretly follows him to uncover the source of this power. He summons Lan Yu outside the city and demands the secret of his soul rings, loyalty to Tang San, and an apology from Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing. Lan Yu refuses and provokes him into battle 11.

Tang Hao destroys Lan Yu's Mycelial Carpet with the Clear Sky Hammer, but cannot prevent Lan Yu from forming the Jadeplume Terrorshroom from Soto City's mycelium. The creature's spores, parasitic mycelium, and lightning-triggered Catalyzing state wear him down. Tang Hao escapes only after using the Cloak Storming Technique and Collapse Jue to create an opening 11 12.

In the Star Dou Great Forest, Xiao Wu arranges for Erming, the Titan Giant Ape, to confront Tang Hao. Lan Yu joins the ambush with Mycelium Swamp and the Jadeplume Terrorshroom. Tang Hao detonates six soul rings to create the Great Clear Sky Hammer, but Erming simply retreats beyond its range. The catalyzed Terrorshroom later mauls Tang Hao and bites off his left leg before a blood-red light teleports him away 15 16.

Tang Hao later recovers enough to rescue Tang San from Spirit Hall's prison, abandoning Yu Xiaogang and the rest of Shrek Academy. Outside the prison, he stays behind to let Tang San flee toward the Blue Silver Forest and detonates seven soul rings for one final Great Clear Sky Hammer against Qian Daoliu. Qian Daoliu's Breath of the Angel destroys the attack and vaporizes Tang Hao completely 44 45.

Appearance

Tang Hao initially conceals himself beneath a hood while observing and confronting Lan Yu. Following his defeat in the Star Dou Great Forest, he is left missing his left leg and severely weakened 11 16 17.

Personality

Tang Hao is intensely protective of Tang San, but that protectiveness is narrow and possessive. He attempts to force Lan Yu into swearing loyalty to his son, treats Xiao Wu as a threat to be controlled, and ultimately risks his life solely to secure Tang San's escape 3 11 15 45.

He is also proud and readily provoked. Lan Yu's insults about his past cause him to abandon negotiation for open combat, and he repeatedly underestimates the dangers posed by fungi, spores, and the Jadeplume Terrorshroom 11 12 16.

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao's martial soul is the Clear Sky Hammer. He displays nine soul rings—two yellow, two purple, four black, and one red—when pursuing Xiao Wu and the Titan Giant Ape 15.

• Uses the Clear Sky Nine Jue, including Slash Jue, Tremor Jue, Collapse Jue, and the Destruction Formula 12 15.
• Can manifest the Clear Sky True Form through his seventh soul skill 15.

Ring Detonation and Great Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao can destroy his own soul rings to convert them into immense power for the Great Clear Sky Hammer.

• Detonated his first six soul rings while surrounded by Erming and the Jadeplume Terrorshroom 15.
• The technique has a slow activation and no locking effect; Erming evaded it by simply fleeing its effective range 16.
• Detonated seven rings in his final battle with Qian Daoliu, but the resulting Great Clear Sky Hammer was destroyed by Breath of the Angel 45.
