Background / History

Bibi Dong is the Pope of Spirit Hall and the successor of the Rakshasa God. While undergoing the Rakshasa God Trials, she identifies Lan Yu as a potentially rival divine inheritor and orders Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo to assassinate him. She regards the two Title Douluo as expendable tools, treating their possible deaths as an acceptable outcome of the mission 39.

The ambush fails disastrously. After the elders return severely injured, Bibi Dong berates them as worthless and becomes more determined to eliminate Lan Yu despite their warning that he may possess divine backing 40.

Lan Yu confronts her directly in the Pope Palace. Bibi Dong attempts to intimidate him with killing intent, Title Douluo pressure, and the Death God Domain, but Qian Daoliu intervenes before the confrontation becomes a battle. Under his authority, she apologizes, provides a ten-thousand-year spirit bone as compensation, and promises not to target Lan Yu again—though she remains openly resentful 41.

Her authority is repeatedly challenged by the Elder Hall. Golden Crocodile Douluo disregards her warning during Shrek Academy’s public humiliation, while Qian Daoliu later prevents her from going to Yu Xiaogang and threatens to remove her from the papacy if she disobeys 42 45.

Following the Soul Master Tournament, Bibi Dong forfeits the championship match to Botanical Academy and privately invites Lan Yu to meet her. She attempts to obtain the Jadeplume Terrorshroom in exchange for a future divine favor, then escalates to an ambush after he rejects her offer 49.

After Lan Yu seals her, the Rakshasa God negotiates her release. Bibi Dong returns from the Rakshasa God’s realm furious but spares Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo because she cannot afford to lose more followers. As Fungus Spirit Spirits spread and Qian Renxue’s position strengthens, Bibi Dong increasingly concentrates on completing her divine inheritance 51 56 70.

Bibi Dong is depicted as a beautiful woman seated upon Spirit Hall’s papal throne, with smooth, unwrinkled skin and a carefully maintained appearance despite being described as already in her forties 40 41.

Bibi Dong is proud, controlling, and highly distrustful of potential threats to her authority. Her attempt on Lan Yu’s life is driven by fear that another divine inheritor could undermine her future rule of the continent 39.

She treats subordinates instrumentally, showing little concern for Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo beyond their usefulness. When they fail, she humiliates them rather than addressing the danger Lan Yu represents 39 40.

Her composure is fragile around subjects connected to Yu Xiaogang, Qian Renxue, and the secret chamber behind the Pope Palace. Lan Yu repeatedly exploits these emotional vulnerabilities, provoking her into abandoning caution and acting recklessly 45 49 50.

Despite her fury at Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo’s betrayal, she spares them after her release, recognizing that her diminished political support leaves her dependent on them 51.

Attempted Assassination of Lan Yu

Bibi Dong dispatches Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo to eliminate Lan Yu before he can become a greater divine or political threat. The ambush instead leaves both elders badly injured and unknowingly infected with Lan Yu’s mycelium 39.

Pope Palace Confrontation

Lan Yu enters the Pope Palace to demand accountability for the assassination attempt. Bibi Dong refuses to answer his questions, attempts to suppress him through force, and is compelled by Qian Daoliu to apologize and provide compensation 40 41.

Elder Hall Power Struggle

Bibi Dong’s authority weakens as the Elder Hall acts independently. Golden Crocodile Douluo openly threatens her, Qian Renxue appears publicly as the surviving Angel heir, and Qian Daoliu uses Yu Xiaogang to ensure Bibi Dong’s obedience 42 45 48.

Tournament Forfeit and Lakeside Ambush

Bibi Dong declares Botanical Academy the tournament champion, then lures Lan Yu to a secluded lakeside to obtain the Jadeplume Terrorshroom. When negotiation fails, she reveals an ambush involving herself, Chrysanthemum Douluo, and Ghost Douluo 49.

Sealing

Bibi Dong loses control after Lan Yu provokes her over Yu Xiaogang and Liu Erlong. Chrysanthemum Douluo and Ghost Douluo betray her with the Nether River Domain; Lan Yu follows with an Ice-shroom and Sealing Spore, leaving her powerless, unconscious, and encased in mycelium 50.

Release and Divine Trials

The Rakshasa God bargains with Lan Yu for Bibi Dong’s release, promising to establish a mushroom patch in the Divine Realm. After returning from the Rakshasa God’s realm, Bibi Dong refrains from killing the elders who betrayed her because she still needs their support 51.

News of Fungus Spirit Spirits alarms Bibi Dong: they could transform the Soul Master system and threaten Spirit Hall’s dominance. With other elders increasingly aligned with the Worship Hall, she resolves to accelerate the Rakshasa God Trials. She subsequently focuses on her inheritance while Qian Renxue pursues the Angel God Trial, and eventually enters the Ninth Rakshasa God Trial with apparent help from her patron 56 70 98.
