When Tang Ziran was informed that both of his children had been bullied at school and then fought back, he was completely dumbfounded. He truly could not imagine that anyone at an Intermediate Academy would bully his two children.
His first instinct was that someone had bullied his daughter, only to get beaten up by his son.
But after learning the full details on his way over, he felt as though he had heard a fantasy tale!
What did it mean that his nine-year-old Three-Ring Soul Elder son had been bullied, that his Level 18 daughter had stood up for him but been stopped by her brother, and that one of them had confiscated someone's Martial Soul while the other had nearly punched an innocent roommate to death?
It was far too absurd. Tang Ziran instinctively wondered whether the school leaders had made it all up to extort money from him.
But when he arrived at the school and saw that boy, who could barely stand, viciously demanding a duel with his son, Tang Ziran began to feel that perhaps, possibly, probably... it was true.
When he saw Tang Li raise his brow slightly, wearing a smile like he had just found something amusing, Tang Ziran shouted, "No!"
After seeing his father rush over, panting for breath, Tang Li immediately stood properly, straight as a pine. He put away his smile, and his expression turned solemn, as though he were being inspected by a commanding officer.
"Dad, I didn't cause trouble this time. It was purely an accident!"
Xie Xie frowned. He did not understand why Tang Li's father would forbid it. He merely wanted to regain his honor, so he explained,
"I, Xie Xie, do not hit women. You're her younger brother, so naturally I'll come after you."
"I don't need any other compensation. I have only this one condition!"
As the young master of the East China Sea Xie Clan, he had been beaten into such a state for no clear reason. If word got out, people would laugh their teeth off. He had to reclaim his dignity!
Of course, Xie Xie would never admit that Tang Wulin's punch had left a shadow in his heart.
"Kid, listen to Uncle. My brat doesn't know his own strength. Don't let a moment of impulsiveness make you lose your head and ignore the consequences!"
Hearing Tang Ziran's words, Tang Li nodded noncommittally. He narrowed his eyes slightly and said in a relaxed tone,
"Sigh, we'll be roommates for the next few years. It'd be better to keep things peaceful. Besides, my cultivation is much higher than my sister's. You couldn't even beat her, let alone fight me. You'll lose."
Tang Li did not care in the slightest that Xie Xie's expression was worsening. Instead, he put on a thoughtful look, rubbing his chin as he tentatively replied,
"It's not impossible, actually. I can go easy on you a little, let you lose more gracefully, and ask for a little less compensation. How about it? Do you think that plan works?"
"How dare you look down on me! No, today, you must accept my challenge!"
Xie Xie's face twisted as his body shook with rage. At his age, he cared greatly about his pride. Hearing Tang Li say that made him absolutely furious! His entire body turned red, as though steam might burst from him.
At that moment, an elderly man approached. His hair was gray, yet meticulously groomed; his posture was straight, and his exquisite suit only accentuated the air of elegance around him.
He came before Xie Xie and calmly bowed, speaking in an even tone,
"Young Master, the Patriarch said that you may arrange everything yourself."
Then he looked at Tang Ziran and politely extended his hand. "Mr. Tang, correct? I am the Xie Clan's butler. I have come to discuss matters with you at the Patriarch's request. I convey the Patriarch's greetings."
Tang Ziran politely shook the old butler's hand as well. "This matter was the fault of my two children. I will certainly give your young master a satisfactory explanation."
"I already said no compensation is necessary. Butler, take me back to recover. Once I've recovered, I'm going to fight you. That is my only request."
Faced with Xie Xie's stubborn insistence, Tang Ziran could only agree helplessly. He glared at Tang Li, signaling for him to remember to go easy.
"You're not allowed to go easy on me! Even if I lose, I want to lose clearly! Holding back means you're looking down on me!"
After saying that, Xie Xie left with the butler, leaving behind Tang Ziran, who helplessly rubbed his forehead, and Tang Li, whose eyes were smiling.
"Dad, you heard him. He asked for it himself. I didn't force him, did I?"
"I think he only has Soul Power in the teens. He couldn't even beat your sister, so be careful. Don't give him psychological problems. That could affect your own future development."
Tang Ziran earnestly cautioned him. He did not care what happened to other people's children, as long as it did not affect his own two treasures. Everyone else could do whatever they wanted.
"Go back to the dorm and pay the fine first. I brought all your Soul Tools. They're all in here. If they speak rudely to you again next time, use the Soul Tools to scare them."
As he spoke, Tang Ziran removed the Storage Soul Tool from his hand and handed it to Tang Li, speaking earnestly.
"You know the password for the bank card. If it's not enough, contact Dad again. I'll go speak with your grade director and see whether I can suppress the impact of this matter."
"Alright, thanks, Dad. I'll be going now!"
"Mm."
Only after watching Tang Li disappear from sight did Tang Ziran push open the office door. He did not really want to speak with the teachers face-to-face either. It was a little intimidating, after all; he had been a student once too...
In the dormitory, Zhou Changxi had curled up entirely beneath his blanket, shivering as though he had been scared limp.
Yun Xiao, on the other side, could only sigh at the sight. Zhou Changxi had brought it upon himself and could blame no one else.
Still, he was deeply curious about that roommate's ability. He had never heard of an ability capable of stripping away someone else's Martial Soul. It was truly astonishing.
And so, the dormitory fell quiet. After quite a while,
Bang—
The already battered dormitory door was kicked open by Tang Li. So he was back. Yun Xiao instinctively rose to his feet, while Zhou Changxi was so frightened that he fell to the floor.
"Ahhh! Devil, you're a devil! Don't come over here!"
Zhou Changxi broke down in tears, looking utterly ruined.
Tang Li gave him a disdainful glance, pulled out the Black Monkey phantom from the Demon-Sealing Pot, and tossed it into Zhou Changxi's body as though he were throwing away trash.
With Zhou Changxi's measly Soul Power in the teens, he would never be able to break free from Tang Li's seal in his lifetime. Unless Tang Li took the thing out and returned it to him himself, Zhou Changxi would have to remain an ordinary person for the rest of his life.
A Martial Soul that had been extracted would be lost forever. That was entirely different from being sealed by chains. If the other party could resist the extraction of the golden rune, their Martial Soul would merely be sealed. But if they failed to resist, they would end up like Zhou Changxi now.
"I'm not bullying either of you. We'll each take turns handling the dorm environment for one day. My sister already cleaned today, so it's not my turn. Figure it out yourselves."
With that, Tang Li turned and left. He had not forgotten that Lin Ye had invited him to eat this morning.
According to Lin Ye, he would also take him to visit the East China Sea Spirit Pagoda. He needed to get used to his new surroundings.
