Background

Tang Ziran was originally a Federation-certified Level-4 Mecha Designer and a capable pharmacist. Before Tang Li was born, he concealed his identity because of a mysterious mecha blueprint and worked publicly as an ordinary mecha repairman, whose income barely supported the family. 3

After Tang Li used the siblings’ savings to buy a winning lottery ticket, Tang Ziran used the prize money to establish a custom civilian-mecha workshop. The business became successful enough to open a branch in Donghai City, though he remained in Aolai City to manage its main workshop. 3

By the time Tang Li began producing Soul Tools, Tang Ziran was described as a fifth-rank Mecha Designer capable of recognizing the complexity of a Third-Rank Sound-Activated Core. 28

Personality

Tang Ziran is a devoted, practical father whose foremost concern is his children’s safety and happiness rather than their future status. He tells Tang Li and Tang Wulin that he and Lang Yue do not expect them to become famous or successful, provided they remain happy. 9

Supporting the siblings’ awakening

Tang Ziran cannot accompany Tang Li and Tang Wulin on Awakening Day because of a major workshop order. He entrusts Tang Wulin with taking her brother to Red Mountain Academy and warns Tang Li to listen to her. 2

After learning that Tang Li possesses Full Innate Soul Power and Tang Wulin has awakened the Clear Sky Hammer, he honors the family’s earlier promise to arrange Century-old Soul Spirits once they reach Level 10. 3 7

Spirit Pagoda recruitment

Lin Ye approaches Tang Ziran to recruit Tang Li into the Spirit Pagoda through a special channel. Tang Ziran hears the offer but refuses to make the decision for his son, allowing Tang Li to judge the organization’s benefits for himself. 13

After Tang Li agrees, Tang Ziran informs Lin Ye and accepts the arrangement for Tang Li to replace Red Mountain Academy’s afternoon cultivation classes with supervised Spirit Pagoda training. 14 17

Na’er’s adoption and the thug incident

Tang Ziran and Lang Yue agree to adopt Na’er after discovering she has no registration record. Before finalizing the decision, Tang Ziran privately confirms that Tang Li genuinely accepts her joining the family. 15
