History

Tang Wulin accompanied her younger brother Tang Li to Red Mountain Academy on Awakening Day and encouraged him before they entered separate awakening rooms. She awakened the Clear Sky Hammer with Level 7 Innate Soul Power, proudly sharing the news with Tang Li and mourning that the vanished Clear Sky School left her no obvious path to learn its inherited techniques. 1 2

Soon after awakening, the Golden Dragon King power sealed within her began affecting her body. She experienced fever, golden markings, violent dreams of a dragon claw, an abnormal appetite, and extreme fatigue. Her awakening also left her with a Blue Silver Grass-like natural fragrance. 6 7 9

After defending Na’er from local thugs, Tang Wulin brought the silver-haired girl home and pushed for the Tang family to take her in. She remained fiercely protective of both Na’er and Tang Li, while Tang Li later retaliated against the attackers on her behalf. 13 15 16 17

One year later, competition with Tang Li drove her to reach Rank 10. Her first Soul Spirit, an Iron-Backed Earth Dragon, mutated into the Golden-Backed Earth Dragon under the influence of her own dragon bloodline. 18

A defect in the Golden Dragon King’s seal later endangered her life. Following Old Tang’s guidance, she relied on Tang Li’s Demon-Sealing Pot to absorb the leaking Blood Qi while she broke through the First Seal, awakening a partial dragon transformation. 29 By age nine, she had reached Level 18 and was reportedly capable of independent thousand forging. 30

Na’er’s departure devastated Tang Wulin, who searched for her and feared that she had failed to treat her well. Tang Li found her at their familiar beach and brought her home. Na’er left Tang Wulin a spiritually powerful rainbow-colored crystal bracelet, which she vowed to wear forever. Soon afterward, the Tang family moved from Aolai City to Eastsea City. 32 33

Tang Wulin enrolled at Eastsea Academy with Tang Li and was assigned to freshman Class Five under Wu Zhangkong. During enrollment, she nearly seriously injured Tang Li’s roommate Zhou Changxi after he insulted her brother; Tang Li stopped her and punished Zhou Changxi himself. In class, she announced that she intended to become a Divine Craftsman. 34 39 40

During Wu Zhangkong’s combat assessment, Tang Wulin supported Tang Li after his exhausting match with their teacher. She then defeated an opponent with one carefully controlled hammer blow and overcame the agility-type Soul Master Xie Xie. Wu Zhangkong praised her Martial Soul control, which she attributed to her work as a Level-3 Blacksmith, and selected her for Class Five’s Promotion Class Tournament team. 43 44 45

Mu Xi, jealous of the praise Tang Wulin had received for her forging, later surrounded her with upperclassmen and tried to force her into a blacksmithing contest. Tang Wulin refused and attempted to escape, but Mu Xi’s Sun Martial Soul weakened her. Tang Li intervened violently. Shaken afterward, Tang Wulin initially asked to transfer schools, then chose to stay after the academy disciplined the aggressors. She later became Mu Chen’s forging disciple, and Tang Li removed the seals he had placed on Mu Xi’s hands with Tang Wulin’s approval. 47 48 53

Tang Wulin learned from Gu Yue, a new classmate who presented herself as Na’er’s older sister, that Na’er was training at Shrek Academy under Yun Ming. Relieved that Na’er was safe, she resolved to cultivate diligently and find her there. Gu Yue’s increasing closeness to Tang Li nevertheless made Tang Wulin wary and jealous. 51 58 64

In the Promotion Class Tournament, Tang Wulin fought alongside Gu Yue and Xie Xie. Against Wang Jinxi’s Bone Dragon King Martial Soul, her Golden Might, strength, and successive hammer blows drove him backward despite his higher Soul Power. As another release of the Golden Dragon King’s power approached, Tang Wulin secretly took forging commissions to save for the spiritual items she needed. Tang Li confronted her about carrying the burden alone. She told him she needed four thousand-year items—Dragon Scale Fruit, Earth Dragon Tendon, Green Vein Vine, and Sea Dragon Marrow—while describing the seal’s release as a bloodline awakening. Tang Li promised to help obtain them, and Gu Yue arranged for the items to arrive. 71 72 73 74

Tang Wulin is unusually tall and physically powerful for her age; by age nine, she stands roughly half a head taller than Tang Li. 6 30

Personality

Tang Wulin is energetic, affectionate, and openly proud of the people she loves. She readily celebrates Tang Li’s achievements, carries his belongings, worries when he is absent, and insists on protecting her family rather than relying on him alone. 2 10 17 27

She is also headstrong and physically assertive. When frustrated, she tends to tackle, pin down, or threaten Tang Li into helping her, though their arguments remain playful. Her courage can become reckless, as seen when she fought to protect Na’er from thugs despite being injured. 8 13 14

Tang Wulin is highly competitive. Tang Li’s sudden breakthroughs upset her, but she turns that frustration into motivation to train harder. Although she initially struggles to read cultivation manuals and meditate alone, she becomes increasingly diligent once she finds a reason to improve. 8 10 27 28
