Background and History

Discovery of Su Yu

Qian Daoliu first learns of Su Yu when Greenlark Douluo reports that an Angel Martial Soul has awakened in a remote village. Because Angel Martial Souls are believed to belong exclusively to the Angel Lineage, he immediately suspects an unprecedented breach of the bloodline and orders Greenlark to bring the child to Elder Palace. 2

When Su Yu arrives, Qian Daoliu is shaken by his near-identical resemblance to his deceased son, Qian Xunji. He accepts Su Yu into Spirit Hall after learning that the orphan possesses the opposing Divine Angel and Dark Angel twin Martial Souls, judging the boy by his heart rather than his dark attribute. 3

Qian Daoliu has Su Yu housed in Qian Renxue's former palace, orders Greenlark Douluo to care for him, and secretly retrieves Qian Xunji's cultivation notes from Pope Palace. He initially keeps Su Yu's recruitment hidden from Bibi Dong, anticipating that she will investigate the boy's origins. 3 4

He subdues Dugu Bo after discovering the Poison Douluo's hidden herb garden, but allows Su Yu to decide Dugu Bo's fate after the latter offers a cure for Dugu Bo's poison backlash. Qian Daoliu ultimately assigns Dugu Bo to assist Su Yu in Tiandou City. 15 16
