Background / History

A Martial Soul awakens when a child reaches six years old. At Zonghun Village’s awakening ceremony, Spirit Hall deacon Lin Chen uses an awakening array to reveal each child’s Martial Soul and test their spirit power with a crystal ball. Most children present awaken ordinary Martial Souls with little or no spirit power, while Su Yu awakens the Divine Angel and innate full spirit power 1.

After returning home, Su Yu discovers that he possesses a second Martial Soul: the Dark Angel. The two souls are visually similar angelic projections but embody opposing sacred and dark attributes. Qian Daoliu identifies the pair as an unusually difficult twin-Martial-Soul combination, since their opposing powers could conflict during cultivation 3 7.

Su Yu later uses the Nine Suns Immortal Lotus and Nine Nether Ink Lotus to strengthen the origins of both Angel Martial Souls. A divine force stabilizes their opposition, allowing the Divine Angel and Dark Angel to evolve into four-winged forms and achieve a state resembling a Martial Soul Fusion Skill 13 14.

Divine Angel

The Divine Angel manifests as a holy angelic projection with golden or golden-white wings and an Angel Holy Sword held in its right hand. Under Martial Soul Possession, Su Yu gains wings capable of flight and wields the sword directly in battle 1 6 9.
