Background

Lin Xiao was an orphan after transmigrating to Douluo Continent; the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect took him in. His stories from his former world made him Ning Rongrong’s closest childhood companion, and the sect allowed their constant companionship. 1

Before his Martial Soul awakening, Lin Xiao feared that poor talent would reduce him from Rongrong’s companion to an ordinary chores disciple. Instead, he awakened an unprecedented detached Martial Soul: a thousand living, penguin-like Gugas. His innate full Soul Power immediately secured Ning Fengzhi’s support and a place within the sect’s core household. 1 2

Lin Xiao is outwardly lazy, playful, and fond of enjoying the comforts supplied by the sect, often leaving work to the Gugas while he rests. He also enjoys teasing Ning Rongrong with absurd stories and repeatedly treats dangerous inventions as opportunities for spectacle. 5 7 16 17

Beneath this behavior, he is practical and survival-minded. He prioritizes Soul Power capacity, physical strength, armor, and other life-saving measures rather than pursuing direct offensive skills alone.
