Background / History

Wuhun awakenings are conducted for six-year-old children by Spirit Hall deacons. During the ceremony, a deacon injects soul power into an awakening formation, causing the child’s Wuhun to manifest. For rural families, awakening is portrayed as their principal chance to change their social standing through Soul Master cultivation. 1

A Wuhun’s apparent form does not reliably reflect its potential. An Chen’s black iron pot is mocked as a household utensil, yet its owner possesses Innate Full Soul Power and is immediately registered and recruited by Spirit Hall. 1 2

The Big Iron Pot is an especially abnormal Wuhun. It is shrouded in faint gray mist, contains Chinese activation characters, and serves as the medium through which An Chen accesses the Big Iron Pot System and brews pathway potions. 1 2

Awakening and Cultivation

Innate Soul Power

Soul power is tested immediately after a Wuhun awakens. A child may manifest a Wuhun without possessing usable soul power, as shown by the girl who awakens Blue Silver Grass but has none. 1

Innate Full Soul Power is considered an exceptionally rare talent. Spirit Hall formally records An Chen after identifying it and arranges resources for his training. 2

Big Iron Pot Wuhun

Combat Use

The Iron Pot’s physical durability allows An Chen to block claws, hammers, gauntlets, whips, and flying debris. He commonly redirects force rather than meeting stronger attacks head-on. 5 17 25 33

• It can be wielded as a blunt weapon capable of knocking out opponents. 5 11 33
• Its wide surface is used to deflect weapons and protect its user from direct attacks. 16 17 33
• Striking an opponent with the pot can also apply a Shadow Mark. 34

Potion Brewing

The pot can concoct pathway potions after the Big Iron Pot System supplies the formulae and ingredients. 2 6

Anomalies and Mutations
