Chemical Pig 2

Li Qinwu waited on the first floor for about three minutes. Once he confirmed the thing was really stuck, he raised his pipe shotgun and crept upstairs.

He moved with great care, shifting one step at a time. Upon reaching the fifth floor, he cautiously observed the stairwell.

The Chemical Pig's head and upper body had both squeezed into the gap. He could neither advance nor back out, and he was suffering terribly.

Li Qinwu checked his pipe shotgun, rushed forward, pressed the muzzle against the unarmored bend of the Chemical Pig's left hind leg, and fired.

With a boom, flesh and blood exploded from the Chemical Pig's hind leg. He let out a heart-rending pig squeal and began struggling madly.

Li Qinwu quickly blasted a second tube of buckshot into the same spot, completely breaking one of the Chemical Pig's knees and exposing the bone.

The Chemical Pig struggled even harder, constantly trying to yank his head free. The metal gap pinning him made creaking, twisting sounds.

Li Qinwu opened the gun's chamber and reloaded, then fired the third and fourth shots into the bend of the left hind leg.

The 35mm buckshot was incredibly powerful, especially at near point-blank range. After four shots, the Chemical Pig's left thigh had been torn off at the knee.

"Oink oink oink oink oink oink!!!"

The agonizing pain made the Chemical Pig let out a terrifying cry. With a vicious heave, amid a burst of clattering, twisting metal, he actually tore his head free from the gap!

Li Qinwu hurriedly retreated and loaded more shells into the pipe shotgun.

The Chemical Pig had lost a leg, yet he still crawled after Li Qinwu. He was not slow, moving as fast as an adult walking briskly.

Li Qinwu retreated while shooting him with the pipe shotgun, but the armor on his body was too thick and heavy. Buckshot without armor-piercing capability could not pose any danger to him.

After firing more than ten tubes of buckshot and seeing that it had no effect, Li Qinwu stopped shooting. He put away the shotgun and planned to simply drag things out until the legless Chemical Pig bled to death.

He led the Chemical Pig around in circles, but after two laps, Li Qinwu noticed that the thing's stump was no longer bleeding—or rather, it was bleeding very little.

He suspected that the Chemical Pig had some sort of coagulant in his body to prevent him from bleeding out.

Scratching his head, Li Qinwu took three detonators from his pocket and tied them together with the bag that had held the buckshot. After estimating the fuse length and the Chemical Pig's crawling speed, he lit them, tossed them onto the ground, and turned to run.

The Chemical Pig howled, thinking Li Qinwu was fleeing. He twisted his bloated body forward even more desperately, completely ignoring the triple detonator on the floor as he crawled right over it.

At that moment, the detonators exploded at exactly the right time.

With a thunderous boom, both of the Chemical Pig's hands bracing against the floor were blown away. His entire belly and chest cavity were blasted apart, and bloody intestines and organs spilled all over the ground.

Li Qinwu kept coughing from the dust thrown up by the explosion. When he finally recovered and looked again, the Chemical Pig was thoroughly dead.

"Clear the map!"

He shouted, humming a little tune about eating as he began cleaning up the battlefield.

First was the Chemical Pig. The thing wore no clothes and had no pockets to search, but Li Qinwu wanted to bring back proof so he could trade it to the black marketeer for money.

This was a Chemical Pig, and such a huge one at that. They could not fob him off with the usual 200 Fertilizer Coupons for an ordinary Chemical Gang member. Killing one of these had to be worth at least 2,000 Fertilizer Coupons, right?

He looked the Chemical Pig over, then simply used a small knife to cut along the spine, removing the pig helmet and a strip of metal from the spinal column.

This was a single integrated device. Both the helmet and that strip of metal were covered in needles, which delivered Rage Drug directly into the Chemical Pig's brain and spinal cord. It was an exceptionally evil thing.

Li Qinwu studied this piece of Warhammer 40,000-style grimdark equipment for a while and discovered seven small protrusions on it that seemed to be openable.

He fumbled around and opened the small protrusions. Seven thumb-sized cylindrical glass vials popped out from inside.

Two of them were already empty, while the remaining five contained some unknown red liquid.

Li Qinwu picked up the five red vials, checked their entries in his mind, and shouted, "Time to eat!"

Name: Rage Drug.

Description: A drug that makes a person immune to pain and keeps them in a state of intense rage. It also incorporates coagulation capabilities.

Tip: You can use Rage Drug at the Hideout Medical Station to manufacture advanced medicines or injections.

Rage Drug was an upgraded version of Poison Needle and could be used to create more advanced drugs. As for exactly what those were, he would have to wait until the Medical Station was built.

Li Qinwu packed up the Rage Spine together with the drugs, then returned to the first floor and cut off all the tattoos from the Chemical Dogs' bodies.

With those items in hand, Li Qinwu began scavenging the place. It had once been some kind of chemical production base, though he did not know why it had been abandoned. There might still be valuable items waiting to be uncovered inside.

After rummaging through the first floor, he found a set of test tubes and beakers worth 200 Fertilizer Coupons. More importantly, it was an upgrade item for the Medical Station. Take it!

Then, on the second floor, he found a small item called Chemical Purification Equipment. It was about half the size of a suitcase and worth 25,000 Fertilizer Credits, the most valuable single item Li Qinwu had found so far.

It was also an upgrade item for the Medical Station and could purify certain chemical substances for preparing medicines.

He had struck it rich. Li Qinwu immediately did a Thomas spin on the spot, followed by a praise-the-God-Emperor combo, before carefully placing it into his backpack.

He found nothing on the third floor. It was all trash.

On the fourth floor, he pulled three unused Biohazard Filter Cartridges from a crate. They could purify water and kill microorganisms and viruses in it, and were used to upgrade the Hideout's water purifier.

On the fifth floor, he found an impact drill. It was large and heavy, and once connected to a power source, it could drill through most Ceramite and metal in the Hive City's buildings. It was worth 3,200 Fertilizer Coupons, about the price of a PDF automatic rifle.

After packing everything up, Li Qinwu planned to evacuate. He opened the map and found that the extraction point was on the fifth floor, near some ventilation ducts.

However, he was curious about where the wall smashed open by the Chemical Pig led, so he did not evacuate immediately.

He tossed his backpack and the impact drill onto the fifth floor, then ran all the way down to the first floor and found the breach the Chemical Pig had smashed open.

As soon as he approached the breach, a green countdown appeared above his head.

Traveling to map: Chemical Gang Base. 10, 9, 8...

Li Qinwu let out an "oh" in his mind. So this was where he could deploy to the Chemical Gang Base. He quickly backed away, and the countdown vanished.

Remembering this, Li Qinwu returned to the fifth floor, grabbed his things, and stood near the ventilation ducts. The countdown ended.
