Li Qinwu infiltrated the T'au stronghold, seized control of its supercomputer, and captured Ethereal Chou Yun, forcing the T'au assault on Hive City 2 to halt. Chou Yun arranged for a T'au warship to be handed over, leaving Li Qinwu with a prize he planned to modify for human use.

• Li Qinwu toured Duke Yote’s factory, ordered cannon, rocket, and heavy-equipment production lines, and paid for them with weapons and supplies.
• Li Qinwu learned that the T'au had gained influence on Water Blue Star and that Duke Yote’s forces had been defeated by local resistance and defections.
• As the T'au launched a massive assault on Hive City 2, Li Qinwu infiltrated their stronghold and recruited engineer Andrew to access the planetary supercomputer.
• Andrew inserted Busi’s USB drive into the supercomputer, allowing Busi to turn the T'au’s automated weapons against their operators while Li Qinwu and the Skitarii seized factory equipment.
• Li Qinwu captured Shan Shui and Ethereal Chou Yun, took the Ethereal Palace and Chemical Plant, and forced Chou Yun to order the T'au Auxiliaries to withdraw.
• Father Anthony discovered that the Ethereal’s forehead organ secreted pheromones that influenced the T'au, while Li Qinwu learned that Inquisitor Thraxol could not catch the two fleeing T'au warships.
• Li Qinwu demanded a warship for Chou Yun’s release, and Chou Yun arranged for his family ship to be delivered after Captain Qi He refused to surrender one.
• Ship No. 2 arrived near Water Blue Star, where Li Qinwu’s people took control of it and began disabling its AI and preparing it for modification.

Li Qinwu defeated the rebellion on Water Blue Star, formed a new government, and prepared to leave with Inquisitor Thraxol’s fleet. During the Warp voyage, he reunited with the Silent One and encountered a Nurgling whose search for affection led him to Isha.

• Li Qinwu arranged for the Ethereal to return to the T'au, but Father Anthony’s modifications caused the Ethereal’s pheromones to kill Captain Yun Yu and much of his crew before Inquisitor Thraxol’s fleet destroyed their ship.
• Li Qinwu used artillery, armored forces, and slag from the Mining Mule to defeat the Planetary Governor’s army, then forced the remaining rebels to surrender.
• With Inquisitor Thraxol’s approval, Li Qinwu took charge of Water Blue Star, imposed the required taxes, and ordered Duke Yote to purge noble families tied to the former governor.
• Li Qinwu killed Duke Yote and the nobles who had exploited Imperial citizens, then helped the marshals establish an Imperial-aligned government that named him the Saint of Water Blue Star.
• Li Qinwu sent the Explorer to search for the human colony ship, salvaged traitor warships to enlarge and equip his Warp Vault, and departed with Inquisitor Thraxol after selecting 2,000 settlers to remain behind.
• During the fleet’s Warp voyage, Li Qinwu found the Silent One conducting psychic research and joined him in seeking out a Nurgling the Silent One had secretly befriended.
• Li Qinwu stopped the Silent One from continuing their friendship, but the Nurgling returned to Nurgle and ran away after Nurgle refused his wish to join Guilliman’s Honor Guard.
• Horticulus Slimux brought the Nurgling to Isha’s cage, where the Nurgling mistook Isha for his mother and cried after she struck him with a psychic slap.

Li Qinwu defeated a Possessed Warrior on a Space Hulk and rescued the last surviving member of the Broken-Winged Angel Chapter, Saint Raiser. After discovering the Chapter’s hidden gene-seed, he proposed rebuilding its Astartes, but Saint Raiser turned on him over his plans.

• Isha transformed the Nurgling into a blue, Ultramarines-marked giant and named him Penicillin.
• Li Qinwu upgraded his factories and designed Heavy Power Armor intended to let ordinary soldiers fight Astartes.
• Li Qinwu explored a Space Hulk and discovered the remains of a battle between Loyalist and Traitor Astartes, along with a wounded Dreadnought and a lurking Possessed Warrior.
• Li Qinwu lured the Possessed Warrior toward the Golden Altar, where its psychic power burned the Daemons inside him, then helped the Fleet Iron Guard kill it.
• Li Qinwu rescued the Dreadnought’s surviving pilot, Gungun, who identified himself as Saint Raiser of the Broken-Winged Angel Chapter.
• Father Anthony augmented Li Qinwu’s nervous system, and Saint Raiser awakened and explained that his Chapter had been abandoned and declared extinct.
• Li Qinwu discovered ten containers of Sanguinius’s gene-seed hidden in the Dreadnought and learned that sanctifying gene-seed could reduce genetic disorders and Warp corruption.
• Li Qinwu showed Saint Raiser his modified XV8 Battlesuits and admitted he wanted an Astartes army under his command, prompting Saint Raiser to denounce him and chase him after learning he had found the Chapter’s gene-seed.

Li Qinwu reshaped Agricultural Planet 496b, recruited children for the Broken-Winged Angel Chapter, and brought Iron Skull Archmagos into his plans. At Purple Diamond Star, he sold weapons and healing injections, amassed a fortune, and prepared to visit Terra.

• Li Qinwu returned to Nightingale and agreed to provide Knight Mechs for their children, while the family planned its growing household and defenses.
• Li Qinwu worked with Governor Zeppelin to curb the nobles’ power, killed the ringleaders who resisted, and negotiated the Imperial Cult’s withdrawal from planetary affairs.
• Li Qinwu and Father Anthony crippled the Adeptus Mechanicus temple by cutting off its supplies, abolishing slavery and Servitors, and prosecuting Magos Trelton.
• Li Qinwu learned that Iron Skull Archmagos’s consciousness had survived, arranged his resurrection, and persuaded him to help design Heavy Power Armor and build Titans.
• Li Qinwu convinced Saint Raiser to cooperate with the Broken-Winged Angel Chapter, replaced its deadly recruitment trials with testing and training, and selected five children for augmentation.

• Li Qinwu decided to seek a warship on Terra and agreed to let the crew visit the planet in batches.
