"Not planning to kill him?"
Watching Whitebeard approach with Teach in hand, Ryan asked.
The onlookers turned their attention over, especially those who had followed Blackbeard. Seeing their boss beaten into such a pathetic state gave them quite a headache.
Hadn't he said they would stand at the top of the world?!
When Blackbeard recruited them, he had boasted his head off. Yet now, not only had Blackbeard himself fallen into the pit, he had dragged them down with him.
Even if Whitebeard's side chose not to hold it against them, the Marines, practically bursting with rage, were enough to make them suffer.
"No. Teach murdered a crewmate and committed an unforgivable crime. He must pay with his life. But not here. I'll find a time to publicly execute Teach!"
After venting much of his anger through that beating, Whitebeard spoke in a deep voice.
There was no way he could let Teach go. Setting aside his own fury, his men alone would never agree to it.
More than ten thousand people had died in this war. Teach's crimes against the Whitebeard Pirates were no longer limited to murdering Thatch. Even with Whitebeard's prestige, if he insisted on sparing Teach, he might not be able to keep everyone under control.
Besides, he had no intention of doing so. His desire to kill Teach was no less than anyone else's.
"I see." Ryan rubbed his chin, thought for a moment, then stepped forward. "Then let me know when the time comes. It'll be a good chance to test some of my ideas. Before that..."
Magic circles appeared across Ryan's hand, and illusory chains pierced through Teach.
"His Devil Fruit is rather unusual. Ordinary people really won't find it easy to keep watch over him. But this should be enough for now."
