A flicker of realization passed through his eyes. Since Alice had kept this from them, then Claire speaking up was apparently just because she disapproved of his T-virus research, rather than the probing he had assumed it was...

He shook his head slightly and stopped dwelling on it.

No matter what, Alice was part of the deal. In this world, no one could promise Nazarick something and then fail to deliver.

"We won't need to use destructive methods on Alice, will we?"

Ryan suddenly thought of this and asked. If possible, he still did not want anything excessive done to Alice.

Though becoming a companion of justice had drifted further and further away from him, he still held a favorable impression of people who could sacrifice themselves for others.

Of course, that was only as long as it did not affect his plans. If it did, he could be ruthless when the time came.

People changed. Principles and bottom lines were not as unshakable as ordinary people imagined.

Just like when he had first crossed over. Back then, his bottom line had been that if others did not offend him, he would not offend them. Even when he had goals, he had pursued them on the premise of not harming innocent people.

Now, he could not say he would do absolutely anything for his goals, but if the temptation was great enough, even killing millions would not be beyond his resolve. No, rather, he had already done so.

He had fought a battle against Asgard on Earth. Even with both sides exercising restraint, no fewer than five million people had died as a result.

Of course, all of that applied only to ordinary people. He did not deny that some possessed wills of steel, with
