The wind changed at dawn.
The cold wind had been blowing down from the north yesterday, but overnight it shifted to the northwest and weakened considerably. Nami stood at the stern, watching the wind for a while before checking the compass. Then she called out, "We can set off."
Chopper and Usopp were gathering their things from the pier. The fire had gone out, leaving a ring of blackened ground and a few half-burned sticks. Luffy crouched at the bow, clutching the half of a grilled fish left over from last night and stuffing it into his mouth. Sanji poked his head out of the kitchen, saw the way he was eating, and kicked him.
"Don't eat that stuff on the ship! The fishy smell won't go away for three days!"
"But it's good," Luffy mumbled through a mouthful of fish.
Sanji kicked him again, then ducked back into the kitchen. Naruto heard the clatter of a spatula inside, along with Sanji muttering, "Better get breakfast ready fast for these starving idiots."
Zoro was already sitting against the stern, his three swords pillowed behind his head, looking ready to fall asleep again. But Naruto noticed his ears moving. Not a sound on the ship escaped him. The guy was always half asleep and half awake. Anyone trying something sneaky beside him would probably get cut down before they could even draw a blade.
As the ship pulled away, Boss Zhou stood on the pier and waved. His son stood beside him, holding a bundle of something that looked like the provisions Sanji had asked them to prepare last night. Nami leaned out of the cabin and called her thanks. Boss Zhou waved a hand, then turned and left with his son. The pier soon fell behind the ship and vanished
