Power Progression

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Jonin-class chakra foundation / One-Tail power 5 Kurama withdraws its leaking chakra, allowing the Eight Trigrams Seal to refine it; Naruto reaches roughly “one Kakashi” of chakra and can use Water Dragon Bullet and Great Waterfall. 5
Two-Tails Transformation 24 After three years working on the seal with his two-lifetime spiritual strength, Naruto reaches the threshold for a Two-Tails transformation. 24
Three-Tails Chakra Cloak 29 A staged injury to his right eye triggers Kurama’s chakra and produces a Three-Tails cloak. 29
Single transplanted Sharingan 34 Forces Shisui’s right Sharingan into his damaged eye socket with Kurama’s chakra; gains enhanced perception, copying, and memory abilities. 34
Single-Eyed Mangekyō Sharingan 35 Evolves Shisui’s eye by pouring chakra into it; gains Kotoamatsukami: Radiance and access to Susanoo, though the Mangekyō initially lasts only about thirty minutes. 35
Second Gate 36 Hiruzen’s ANBU reports confirm Naruto can open the Second Gate while secretly training under Might Guy. 36
Life Gate 45 Opens the final relatively safe gate, drastically increasing his speed and strength. 45
Shikkotsu Forest summoning contract and forbidden-technique access 47 Signs the Slug Sage’s contract and receives Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu and Adamantine Sealing Chains, establishing the foundation for his later Sage training and Tailed Beast restraint. 40 47
Wood Release and Shikkotsu Forest Sage Mode 85–143 Begins Sage Mode training under Katsuyu; his clash with Tsunade completes an Asura Chakra Seed and awakens Wood Release. He later combines Sage Mode, Adamantine Sealing Chains, and Myōjinmon to suppress Shukaku. 85 88 94 143
Dual Sharingan integration 93 Transplants Shisui’s other Three-Tomoe Sharingan; both eyes fuse unusually well with his Asura-based chakra. 93
Sage Art: Nine-Tails Chakra Mode 152 Reveals a golden-red Nine-Tails cloak enhanced by sage energy; Hashirama judges Naruto’s chakra reserves greater than his own. 152
Super Kage-level composite combat power 155–156 Combines a Wood Human, Kurama’s chakra, Susanoo, Sage Chakra, and Yang Release to defeat the weakened reanimated Hashirama. Maintaining this combination still exhausts him, and he lacks the pure Yin Release needed for a further qualitative breakthrough. 155 156
Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan 184 Defeats Itachi and implants the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan surrendered by him. 184
Rinnegan 196 Removes Nagato’s Rinnegan, heals Nagato’s sockets, and implants the eye into himself; its chakra consumption is immense. 196
Tailed Beast vessel development 205 Uses Rinnegan-enhanced Susanoo to drain and seal Shukaku, realizing his body and Susanoo may serve as an alternative vessel for all nine Tailed Beasts. 205
Seventh Gate / Evening Elephant 208 Opens only the Seventh Gate but releases chakra on a scale exceeding Guy’s Eighth Gate. Yang Release continuously repairs the backlash as he tests Evening Elephant: One Foot against the Third Raikage. 208
Night Guy and Matatabi absorption 209–210 Opens the Eight Gates deeply enough to use Night Guy against the Third Raikage, heals the resulting damage through Yang Release, extracts Matatabi with Adamantine Sealing Chains, and absorbs the Two-Tails with the Rinnegan. 209 210
Rinnegan Chakra Mode / Six-Tomoe Rinnegan 212 The first completed fusion of the nine Tailed Beasts’ chakra manifests a temporary Six-Tomoe Rinnegan on his forehead and greatly enhances his physical power. 212
Six Paths Power and Truth-Seeking Orbs 235 Completes a decisive stage of internalizing the nine Tailed Beasts’ chakra, awakening his own Six Paths Sage Mode and independently generated Truth-Seeking Orbs. 235
Ultra Instinct-like nature state 236 Merging with nature conceals his presence from chakra sensing and allows his body to react to danger without conscious commands, an early state compared to Ultra Instinct. 236
Ultimate Susanoo 238 Manifests a colossal Tailed Beast chakra-enhanced Susanoo armed with four Indra’s Swords and defeats Hashirama’s True Several Thousand Hands. 238
Compressed Six Paths close-combat state 241 Withdraws his golden cloak, compresses his power into a nearly black coating, attaches Truth-Seeking Orb power to his body, and combines it with the Eight Gates to destroy Madara’s Susanoo-equipped Wood Release Clones with single blows. 241
Sasuke’s Mangekyō Sharingan acquisition 242 Uses Yomotsu Hirasaka to take Sasuke’s Mangekyō Sharingan while leaving the Yin half of Kurama for Madara and Obito. 242
Blue Rinne Sharingan / Amenominaka 243 Yin-Yang Release drives his eyes into a pair of blue Rinne Sharingan, accelerates his fusion of Tailed Beast chakra, and grants the ability to create a space through Amenominaka. 243
Gelel-enhanced body and Primordial Sphere Space 244 Channels the Gelel Ore Vein’s life energy while opening the Eight Gates through the Gate of Death. Its restorative power strengthens his meridians enough to withstand the Eighth Gate without injury. He severs the Dragon Vein Space from its timeline and compresses it into a personal Truth-Seeking Orb containing an independent world. 244
Ten-Tails-like Chakra Dragon absorption 247 Uses a Chakra Dragon resembling the Gedo Statue’s ability to strip Sasuke of his newly granted Six Paths power and all remaining chakra. Madara, despite possessing the Ten-Tails, recognizes Naruto as substantially stronger than during their previous encounter. 247
Azure Nine-Tomoe Rinne Sharingan and Chakra Fruit enhancement 252 After the Chakra Fruit restores his depleted chakra and Gelel-enhanced body, Naruto possesses an azure Nine-Tomoe Rinne Sharingan and stands above weakened Hagoromo and Isshiki. 252

Background

Naruto’s consciousness originates from Li Luo, a transmigrator who awakens as Naruto Uzumaki shortly after Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki die sealing the Nine-Tails into him. Rather than embracing the role of the original story’s protagonist, he resolves to avoid its loneliness, manipulation, and self-sacrificial fate. His main advantages are foreknowledge, Uzumaki blood, Asura chakra, and access to Kurama’s seal space. 4

Hiruzen initially arranges care for Naruto, but he is moved from Minato’s home into a war-orphan tenement once his memories begin forming and the truth of his jinchūriki status spreads. He survives on hard bread and instant ramen while villagers isolate and mistreat him. This experience shapes his enduring resentment toward Hiruzen and Konoha’s leadership. 5

Naruto repeatedly enters the seal to speak with Kurama, treating the Nine-Tails as a potential partner rather than a monster. Kurama gradually stops leaking chakra through the seal, allowing Naruto’s control and reserves to develop at an abnormal rate. 5

He later uses the Hyuga kidnapping incident to build ties with Hiashi, trains under Might Guy, and uses repeated fights with Sasuke to accelerate Sasuke’s Sharingan development. Naruto enters the Academy already far beyond its curriculum, deliberately ranks last to conceal his ability, and accepts early graduation only after bargaining for forbidden techniques. 10 13 36 37

Hiashi’s financial support, Hyuga medicinal baths, and Nara medical expertise make Naruto’s extreme childhood training sustainable. His friendships with clan heirs also develop into an intelligence network: apparently frivolous card games conceal exchanges of letters and information beneath ANBU surveillance. 13 24

Witnessing the exploitation of Karin and her mother in Kusagakure becomes a major ideological turning point. After annihilating the Grass ninja camp and burying Karin’s mother, Naruto declares that the shinobi system should cease to exist and that a single immortal ruler should impose the world’s rules. He brings Karin into his household and refuses to let Hiruzen take control of her. 61 62 63

After acquiring the Rinnegan and accessing the Dragon Vein’s temporal pathways, Naruto intervenes in earlier eras of the Ninja World. Under the identity Kinmon Namikaze, he meets Mito Uzumaki, protects the younger Kushina, forms an alliance with the remaining Senju and Uzumaki survivors, and seeks to remove the causes of later tragedies before they occur. 188 189 190 197

His initial entry into this earlier world is accidental, placing him approximately thirty years before his original era. He claims to be Minato’s relative while seeking entry to Konoha, but ultimately resides in the Senju Clan Grounds as an Uzumaki clansman rather than moving into Minato’s home. 186 190

Naruto later separates the Dragon Vein Space from its original timeline and dimension, preserving its Ninja World and Pure Land within a personal space he calls the Primordial Sphere Space. 244

Appearance

Naruto has blond hair and a physique that develops far faster than that of his peers. Intensive taijutsu training, medicinal baths, and abundant chakra make him exceptionally tall and muscular from childhood onward. 13 84 196

  • Reached approximately 1.4 meters by age six after two years of Might Guy’s training. 13
  • Was described as over 1.6 meters by age thirteen and physically mature enough to be mistaken for someone much older. 84
  • At eleven, was also described as nearly six feet tall, with the height and build of a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old, startling Rock Lee and the other younger trainees. 93
  • Wore an eyepatch after receiving Shisui’s first Sharingan, both to hide it and to adapt to its altered perception. 35
  • After his three-month hospitalization, his black eyepatch and withdrawn manner initially made him appear gloomy and intimidating. 33
  • Later possesses transplanted Sharingan, Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan, a Rinnegan, and successively awakened Six-Tomoe Rinnegan and Rinne Sharingan ocular powers. 93 184 196 212 243
  • Shisui’s transplanted eyes initially become completely black after integrating with his awakened Asura chakra, although he can subsequently activate their scarlet Sharingan forms. 93 94
  • Publicly appears in a Hokage cloak during his campaign against the Sand Village. 204
  • Six Paths power grants him a golden chakra cloak, a forehead Six-Tomoe Rinnegan, and floating Truth-Seeking Orbs without visibly transforming him into an Ōtsutsuki. 212 235
  • His compressed Six Paths combat state replaces the conspicuous golden cloak with nearly black power coating his body. 241
  • By the final conflict over the Chakra Fruit, his eyes have become azure Nine-Tomoe Rinne Sharingan. 252

Personality

Naruto is calculating, pragmatic, and deeply unwilling to accept the fate assigned to him. He plans years ahead, uses his knowledge of future events to manipulate political factions and individual growth, and evaluates people—including Sasuke, Itachi, and Black Zetsu—according to how they may serve his larger goals. 10 57 110 206

His hostility toward Hiruzen and the institutions of Konoha stems from his childhood abandonment. Although he can be protective of allies and children harmed by war, he is willing to employ coercion, psychological conditioning, assassination, and conquest when he believes they advance lasting order. 47 72 196 202

Naruto also retains a mischievous, irreverent demeanor. He frequently teases friends, bargains aggressively with authority figures, and turns displays of power into theatrical public statements. 37 91 167

He distinguishes sharply between those he considers his own people, strangers, and enemies. He is generous toward his allies, indifferent toward outsiders, and exceptionally vindictive toward opponents. He rejects the claim that Minato’s sacrifice obliges him to protect Konoha, arguing that the village’s years of peace were purchased through his own suffering. 76 172

Naruto openly acknowledges his selfishness rather than presenting all his actions as selfless service. He considers personal benefit first, while accepting that good deeds and peace can also serve his interests. His declaration that he wants to give every girl he likes a warm home connects his personal attachments with his ambition to unify the Ninja World. 100 218

His belief in physical power becomes increasingly explicit. He considers bodily durability the foundation that determines how much chakra a person can withstand, regards elaborate ninjutsu as secondary, and eventually abandons attempts to persuade battlefield opponents through peace-oriented rhetoric. When Hashirama condemns mass casualties, Naruto instead argues that the victims’ deaths will contribute to future peace. 237

Despite his ruthlessness, Naruto remains emotionally invested in particular individuals. He comforts Tsunade through grief and exhaustion, shelters the starving Konan, and evacuates loyal followers before risking his own life. These attachments do not extend to universal concern: when the God Tree captures the remaining shinobi, he states that only those who truly care about him belong to the Ninja World he wishes to preserve. 160 197 242 247

As his power expands beyond the Ninja World’s conventional hierarchy, Naruto becomes increasingly concerned with threats outside it. He recognizes that dominance over shinobi is insignificant beside entities such as the Ōtsutsuki, Gods of Destruction, or Zeno, and begins treating immortality, cosmic travel, God Trees, and further evolution as necessities for survival. 230 His ambition eventually extends to creating an independent world within the Primordial Sphere Space, which he hopes can grow to a scale capable of protecting him from cosmic threats. 244

Abilities & Skills

Uzumaki Chakra and Asura Chakra

Naruto’s Uzumaki lineage grants him vast reserves and unusually refined chakra control. His awakened Asura chakra further enhances his vitality, physical development, Yang Release, and compatibility with foreign ocular powers. 5 34 93

  • Supports high-cost techniques and combat-capable Shadow Clones. 45 59
  • Allows Yang Release to repair Mangekyō damage to his eye, although later damage to the Yin Release-based spiritual organs behind his eyes cannot be repaired in the same way. 35 167
  • Lets transplanted Sharingan integrate more naturally than they would in an ordinary non-Uchiha. 93
  • Gives him enough chakra to use large-scale Wood Release, Sage Arts, and Nine-Tails power in combination. 152 155
  • His clash with Tsunade joins their complementary Asura-derived chakra into a complete Asura Chakra Seed, awakening his Wood Release and giving Tsunade a corresponding foundation for further development. 88
  • Uses Yang Release to restore bodies ravaged by the Eight Gates and heal the Third Raikage after defeating him. 210
  • Believes the Uzumaki may represent a third Six Paths-derived lineage whose vitality, combined with Senju traits and ocular Yin Release, makes direct Tailed Beast fusion possible. 210
  • Uses Mind’s Eye of the Kagura to perceive chakra across dozens of miles while searching for the imprisoned Konan. 242
  • Absorbs the Gelel Ore Vein’s life energy, greatly strengthening his body and meridians. The energy repairs damage as he opens successive Gates and ultimately enables him to withstand the Gate of Death without its usual injury. 244

Kurama and Jinchūriki Forms

Naruto maintains an unusually cooperative relationship with Kurama. Their partnership began with persistent conversations in the seal space and develops into shared combat coordination. 5 154

  • Has used One-, Two-, and Three-Tails transformations. 5 24 29
  • Deliberately hands control of his injured body to Kurama during the Three-Tails incident, allowing the beast to eliminate most of the pursuing Root squad. 30
  • Can enter Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and manifest Kurama’s giant fox form. 152 183
  • Uses chakra arms and tails for interception, restraint, and added striking power. 152 154
  • Can form and modify Tailed Beast Bombs, including a Sage Chakra- and Yang Release-enhanced Tailed Beast Bomb Shuriken. 154 155
  • Experiments with Kurama’s chakra to regenerate severe facial injuries by accelerating cellular division; this early method remains crude compared with advanced medical regeneration. 62
  • His later Rinnegan-enhanced Susanoo can drain and seal another Tailed Beast’s chakra. 205
  • Uses the Nine-Tails’ chakra to create nine independently operating Nine Masked Beasts with distinct movement and combat capabilities. 225
  • The Nine Masked Beasts are produced through a Tailed Beast Splitting Technique learned after his tomoe ocular advancement. Their names are Azure, White, Vermilion, Black, Void, South, North, Three, and Jade. 225
  • Sacrifices the Yin half of Kurama to Madara and Obito in exchange for Sasuke’s Mangekyō Sharingan, demonstrating that he values ocular evolution above retaining every portion of Kurama’s power. 242
  • Protects the Yang half of Kurama, which has accompanied him since childhood, from the rapidly maturing Ten-Tails and God Tree. 247

Sharingan, Mangekyō, and Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan

Naruto acquires Shisui’s Sharingan through a planned ambush on Danzō, then uses its perception and copying functions to rapidly expand his skill set. 29 34

  • Reads movements in extreme detail and copies ninjutsu, taijutsu, and physical techniques into muscle memory. 34 35
  • Uses Kotoamatsukami: Radiance, an offensive genjutsu that traps and destroys a target’s spirit within an illusionary space. 35
  • Accesses Susanoo, initially only sustaining a skeletal form for seconds because of its chakra cost. 35
  • Uses Kotoamatsukami to reshape Itachi’s subconscious over time. 72 93
  • Exploits Itachi’s Tsukuyomi as an entry into his deepest mental territory, combining two-lifetime spiritual strength, Asura’s will, and Kotoamatsukami to reconstruct his beliefs. 72
  • Uses Mangekyō genjutsu and psychological pressure to radicalize Asuma against the Sarutobi clan. 131
  • Can attack through Susanoo with Yasaka Beads, destroying Nadare’s armored train during the Land of Snow campaign. 178
  • Replaces his damaged ocular power with Itachi’s Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan after defeating him. 184
  • Sage Technique protects him against Itachi’s Tsukuyomi and other Sharingan-based genjutsu. 183
  • Uses Izanami to imprison Danzō in an inescapable repeating mental hell with no route to self-acceptance or release. 230
  • Steals Sasuke’s awakened Mangekyō Sharingan through Yomotsu Hirasaka after Sasuke is captured by Madara. 242

The eyes are not without limitations. Repeated Kotoamatsukami use without respecting its cooldown damages the spiritual organs connected to his eyes and progressively reduces their ocular power. Itachi’s Eternal Mangekyō also eventually helps him break free of Naruto’s earlier conditioning, demonstrating that the manipulation is not permanently secure against every target. 167 182

Rinnegan

Naruto removes Nagato’s Rinnegan to free him from White Zetsu’s control and implants it into himself. 196

  • Uses gravitational techniques, including Almighty Push and Banshō Ten’in. 197
  • Can absorb chakra through the Sealing Technique Absorption Seal. 203
  • Has access to Planetary Devastation, Gedo Statue control, summoning, and Madara’s Limbo potential. 197
  • The transplanted eye cannot be deactivated and consumes enormous chakra. 196
  • Naruto seeks to evolve it further through the fusion of Asura chakra and eventual Six Paths senjutsu chakra. 197
  • Uses Shinra Tensei to disperse the clouds sustaining the Rain Tiger at Will Technique and stop the rain over the area where he encounters Konan. 197
  • Uses the Rinnegan to suppress Tailed Beast consciousnesses and absorb their chakra into himself, beginning with Matatabi. 210
  • Awakens Yomotsu Hirasaka, allowing him to open portals between locations and dimensions; his Six-Tomoe Rinnegan accelerates the technique’s activation. 212
  • Uses Truth-Seeking Orbs to permanently destroy an Impure World Reincarnation body, proving his power can overcome conventional Edo Tensei regeneration. 236

Before obtaining the eye, Naruto rejects using Madara’s Rinnegan as an immediate substitute because its chakra and life-force costs would reduce the effectiveness of his existing Wood Release and Sage Arts. His subsequent acquisition occurs after further development of his Asura-based body and chakra. 167 196

Six Paths Power and Rinne Sharingan

Naruto gradually converts the chakra of the nine Tailed Beasts into power that belongs to him rather than relying entirely on the unstable shortcut of becoming the Ten-Tails’ jinchūriki. 212 235

  • Activates Rinnegan Chakra Mode, which manifests a temporary Six-Tomoe Rinnegan on his forehead and dramatically enhances his speed and physical force. 212
  • The initial forehead eye and physical enhancement disappear when he stops the fusion process; at this stage, he cannot yet freely produce Truth-Seeking Orbs. 212
  • Achieves his own Six Paths Sage Mode through the fusion of the nine Tailed Beasts’ chakra. 235
  • Can independently create and manipulate Truth-Seeking Orbs, unlike recipients of temporarily borrowed Six Paths power. 235
  • Conceals his chakra entirely by merging with nature, a technique he mockingly calls Observation Killing. 235
  • Displays an early Ultra Instinct-like combat state in which his body reacts automatically without waiting for conscious thought. 236
  • Manifests Ultimate Susanoo with four Indra’s Swords, then uses the four-sword iaijutsu technique Lightning Flash to cut apart Hashirama’s restored thousand-armed construct and reanimated body. 238
  • Compresses Six Paths chakra and Truth-Seeking Orb power against his body for close combat, abandoning the larger golden cloak and combining the concentrated power with the Eight Gates. 241
  • Evolves his eyes into blue Rinne Sharingan through Yin-Yang Release and uses Amenominaka to create or access distinct spaces. 243
  • Uses Amenominaka to sever the Dragon Vein Space from its timeline and compress it into a black Truth-Seeking Orb called the Primordial Sphere Space. The space contains an independent Ninja World, its inhabitants, and the Pure Land. 244
  • Releases a Chakra Dragon resembling the Gedo Statue’s absorption technique, stripping Sasuke of the Six Paths power granted by Hagoromo and draining his remaining chakra. 247
  • Replicates Kaguya’s Eighty Gods Vacuum Attack by tracking its chakra formation with his Rinne Sharingan and gathering chakra in the same manner. 250
  • Later possesses an azure Nine-Tomoe Rinne Sharingan after consuming a Chakra Fruit; the fruit replenishes his chakra and restores his Gelel-enhanced body. 252

Sage Mode and Katsuyu

Naruto contracts with Shikkotsu Forest and trains directly under Katsuyu. His Sage Mode is framed as a powerful amplification of Yang Release and life force. 85

  • Selects the slug contract after examining the Scroll of Seals catalog and formally signs it when Hiruzen delivers his promised techniques. 40 47
  • Prefers Shikkotsu Forest over Mount Myōboku because he distrusts Gamamaru’s motives and sees the Slug Sage’s power as more compatible with his own development. 40
  • Katsuyu’s natural energy initially overwhelms Naruto and requires Kurama’s assistance to stabilize. 85
  • Katsuyu instructs him to combine his own chakra and natural energy at a two-to-one ratio during the initial training. 85
  • Uses Sage Mode alongside Wood Release, Kurama’s chakra, and sealing techniques. 143 152
  • Can summon Katsuyu on a battlefield scale; her divided bodies heal Konoha’s wounded and provide mobile medical support. 145
  • Uses Sage Art: Myōjinmon to halt Shukaku’s chakra flow completely. 143
  • Uses Senjutsu to merge with the surrounding environment, eliminating his detectable aura and rendering conventional sensory techniques ineffective. 235

Wood Release

Naruto manifests Wood Release after a clash with Tsunade completes an Asura Chakra Seed within him. He later combines Wood Release with Sage Mode, Susanoo, and Nine-Tails chakra. 88 94 155

  • Deep Forest Emergence neutralizes Gaara’s Sand Waterfall and restrains Shukaku’s host. 143
  • Wood Dragon Technique destroys Nadare’s Ice Release constructs and absorbs opposing chakra. 176
  • Flowering Tree World Emergence devastates a wide area of Konoha and destroys Orochimaru’s giant snakes. 152
  • Hell’s Chaos creates a thorn forest used with Rasenshuriken and Flying Thunder God attacks. 152 153
  • Combines a Wood Human with Nine-Tails Chakra Mode and Susanoo armor in Armored Susanoo: Beast’s Calamity. 155 205
  • Uses a Many Hands Technique enhanced by Susanoo armor to overwhelm Tsunade’s Wood Human during training. 94
  • Uses True Several Thousand Hands to destroy Itachi’s complete Susanoo and Yata Mirror. 183 184
  • Creates Wood Release Clones able to use Mangekyō Sharingan techniques and Susanoo as concealed assets among his ordinary Shadow Clone forces. 209
  • Uses Sage-enhanced Deep Forest Emergence to overwhelm Madara’s inferior Wood Release, which lacks Naruto’s Senjutsu chakra. 241

Before awakening the bloodline, Naruto unsuccessfully attempts to copy Yamato’s Wood Release with the Sharingan. His eventual awakening comes from completing his Asura-derived chakra rather than reproducing hand seals alone. 58 88

Taijutsu and the Eight Gates

Might Guy’s training gives Naruto an extraordinary physical foundation and a willingness to treat taijutsu as a path to Six Paths-level power. 13 36

  • Opens the Second Gate by the time Hiruzen reviews his ANBU reports. 36
  • Opens the Life Gate, gaining speed close to Body Flicker through ordinary movement. 45
  • Uses nunchaku, overwhelming strength, and high-speed movement in close combat. 45
  • Stops Zabuza’s Executioner’s Blade with one hand and throws it back with wind-nature chakra. 106
  • Defeats Jiraiya in a hand-to-hand contest without chakra, causing the Sannin to reconsider his identity and potential. 131
  • Uses Evening Elephant: One Foot against the Third Raikage while testing the Seventh Gate and continuously healing the resulting damage with Yang Release. 208
  • Uses Night Guy against the Third Raikage, producing a dragon-shaped eruption of green chakra powerful enough to shatter the Raikage’s legendary defense. 209 210
  • Combines extreme Eight Gates power with Flying Thunder God Formula techniques to exceed even the Third Raikage’s speed. 209
  • Effortlessly catches the Fourth Raikage’s attack and drives him into the ground with a Liger Bomb, demonstrating physical strength beyond Tsunade’s. 237
  • Compresses his Six Paths power and opens the Eight Gates again to destroy Madara’s Wood Release Clones and their Susanoo with individual blows. 241
  • Opens the Eighth Gate while absorbing the Gelel Ore Vein’s energy. Its life force repairs his rupturing meridians during the process; afterward, his strengthened body can withstand the Gate of Death without injury, though he initially struggles to control his increased strength. 244

Naruto concludes that the Eight Gates are not capped at the power Guy displayed. Their effectiveness scales with the user’s reserves and bodily durability, making them a continuing multiplier rather than merely an emergency technique. His enormous chakra also magnifies their destructive backlash, which is why Guy repeatedly warns him against casual use. 208

Sealing, Space-Time, and Clone Techniques

Naruto studies Uzumaki sealing arts, Minato’s techniques, and forbidden jutsu acquired from Hiruzen. 24 47

  • Uses Adamantine Sealing Chains to bind Tailed Beasts and opponents. 47 143
  • Reconstructs the Eight Trigrams Seal inside Gaara’s consciousness. 143
  • Uses Shadow Clones for study, battlefield deception, suicide attacks, and memory transfer. 29 36 45
  • Learns the ordinary Shadow Clone Technique from Itachi before receiving the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu. 29 36 47
  • Prepares substitution logs in advance to turn the Substitution Technique into a practical ambush tool. 46
  • Learns and rapidly improves Flying Thunder God, eventually defeating Tobirama in a teleportation duel. 152 153 154
  • Marks Tobirama during combat and uses a Rasengan-driven kunai to implant a controlling sealing talisman into his reanimated body. 154
  • Uses Fire-Sealing Formula to contain Itachi’s final Amaterasu attack. 184
  • Uses Earth Release: Earth-Flow Divide across more than ten kilometers to clear an army’s route through traps and barriers. 195
  • Extracts Matatabi from her jinchūriki with Adamantine Sealing Chains and suppresses the beast’s consciousness through Rinnegan power. 210
  • Directs White Zetsu to use One’s Own Life Reincarnation as expendable vessels to revive useful allies and former enemies. 210
  • Uses Yomotsu Hirasaka to travel across battlefields, evade attacks, access the moon, and evacuate followers into Hamura’s lunar refuge. 212 242
  • Refines the Dragon Vein Space into the Primordial Sphere Space, a personal domain compressed into a Truth-Seeking Orb rather than merely a portal destination. 244

His White Zetsu resurrection strategy originates in concern that extracting Kurama might kill him. He proposes obtaining Chiyo’s One’s Own Life Reincarnation and combining it with the vitality and Spore Technique of the hundred-thousand-strong White Zetsu force as a life-restoration reserve. 123

Elemental Ninjutsu and Rasengan

Naruto possesses all five basic chakra natures as well as Yang Release, with Wind Release standing out as a particularly natural affinity. He supplements his foreknowledge with techniques obtained from Hiashi, Sharingan-assisted copying, and knowledge taken from his parents’ chakra remnants. 29 58 76 77

  • Uses Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet and Great Waterfall by age three. 5
  • Practices the Rasengan with a balloon during early childhood and later uses it to break Danzō’s arm while stealing Shisui’s eye. 5 29
  • Uses Wind Release: Gale Palm to disperse poison smoke and Great Breakthrough to throw Root operatives through multiple trees. 29 45 46
  • Uses Earth Spear to defeat Ebisu and later execute the Land of Fire’s daimyo. 101 203
  • Uses Ultra Big Ball Rasengan to break through Rasa’s defense during the Konoha revolution. 152
  • Combines Sage Art: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken with Wood Release and teleportation attacks. 152 153
  • Kills Nadare with Fire Release: Great Flame Rasengan during his solo Land of Snow assault. 178
  • Can fly using chakra and accelerates beyond the sound barrier after acquiring the Rinnegan. 198

Strategy, Instruction, and Governance

Naruto’s influence extends beyond personal combat. He builds alliances with major clans, manipulates enemy factional conflicts, uses financial resources to obtain privacy, and trains younger shinobi according to standards independent of their official rank. 13 24 68 99 115

  • Purchases a courtyard near the Hyuga compound and commissions a highly secure barrier to deter surveillance and intrusion. 68
  • Serves as an additional supervising Genin for Sasuke, Sakura, and Karin while Kurenai holds the team’s formal supervising Jonin position. 99
  • Chooses the prolonged Land of Waves escort mission for its training value rather than its financial reward. 101
  • Teaches Karin the Yin Seal and Monster Strength, alongside supporting her Uzumaki sealing development. 107
  • Trains Sasuke and Karin through deliberately restrained Shadow Clone combat until they can coordinate well enough to defeat a clone. 115
  • Teaches Sasuke the Rasengan, which Sasuke masters in approximately half a month with Sharingan assistance. 124
  • Entrusts military organization to Orochimaru while directing broader political and bloodline-development objectives. 195
  • Replaces the shinobi-village military structure in the Land of Akatsuki with salaried public-security forces and reorganizes former ANBU into inspection units. 211
  • Proposes interstellar immigration as a solution to future population growth and resource shortages under a unified world. 218
  • Proposes a ten-combatants-per-side martial arts tournament as an alternative to a full Ninja World war. 222
