Background

Konan was present when Hanzō and Root forces cornered Nagato. Nagato freed her from her restraints and ordered her behind him as he prepared to face their attackers. 1

After Yahiko's death, Konan helped Nagato carry his body away and shared Nagato's suspicion of Obito's “Madara” persona. She accepted Nagato's one-year delay agreement with Obito, despite understanding that their surviving comrades had likely also been harmed by him. 2 4

Konan later assisted in converting Rin Nohara's corpse into Pain Rin, personally arranging the black chakra rods with care and precision. Although disturbed by the process, she trusted Nagato's judgment and remained committed to supporting his plans. 5

Konan is perceptive, restrained, and intensely loyal. She recognizes Orochimaru's dangerous nature, chooses not to interfere with Nagato's private negotiations, and focuses instead on what she can do to support him without becoming an obstacle. 14 65

Though initially accustomed to following Nagato's decisions, she increasingly insists on acting for herself. She refuses to remain a distant observer during the confrontation with Fugaku and Shisui, volunteers for battlefield duties, and later resolves to master forbidden techniques so she can stand beside Nagato as an equal. 31 34

As Amegakure's Lady Angel, Konan combines political awareness with genuine compassion. She promotes charity in Pain's name, argues that former war orphans deserve comfort rather than continued deprivation, and intends to use her strength against corrupt nobles who exploit civilians. 72 91 103
