Background

Jiang Lin is a transmigrator who arrived in Douluo Continent six years before the start of the story. He lived alone in Holy Soul Village, where his inherited house and farmland made him a target for villagers seeking to seize them. While the All-Heavens Card-Drawing System remained stuck at 99% for six years, he feared awakening an unusable Martial Soul and being left unable to defend himself. 1

Before his Martial Soul awakening, Alto and several other children ambushed and severely beat him. Villagers watched without intervening, while Tang San passed by and ignored him. Old Jack was the only person to help Jiang Lin afterward. The system completed its loading while Jiang Lin lay injured in the rain. 1 2

The activated system granted him the Pure Yang Flame, King’s Power Sword, an Ancient God Art fragment, and a Bronze Random Character Summoning Card. He endured both inheritances immediately, then summoned Little Dragon Girl as his first companion. 2

After leaving Notting City, Jiang Lin established a wooden home in the Star Dou Forest with his companions. Xiao Wu and Tian Yan subsequently departed, leaving him and Little Dragon Girl to spend five years cultivating and building a shared domestic life. During this period, he acquired additional Soul Rings and advanced to Level 49. 34 37 40 41

His later Ancient God inheritance connected him to Cang Xu, a Royal Ancient God whose power exceeded the limitations of the Douluo world. Jiang Lin also learned that Douluo Continent belonged to a Micro-Level Plane within the Boundless Chaos Sea, rather than constituting the full extent of the universe. 51 62

Personality

Jiang Lin is observant, calculating, and highly conscious of power disparities. He hides the Pure Yang Flame, suppresses the King’s Power Sword’s true qualities, and withholds knowledge of Tang San’s Clear Sky Hammer to avoid attracting Martial Soul Hall’s attention prematurely. 6 9

He is fiercely protective of the people he accepts as his own, particularly Old Jack and Little Dragon Girl. Threats against them drove him to eliminate the hostile villagers of Holy Soul Village, protect Old Jack with Shadow Ninjas, and vow to seek justice against the faction that ruined Old Jack’s life. 6 7 29 30

This protectiveness is paired with severe ruthlessness. Jiang Lin kills enemies who continue plotting against him, uses fear as a deterrent, and exploits defeated opponents for money or information. He nevertheless shows restraint at times, such as sparing the retreating Gale Wind Demon Wolves and choosing to focus on cultivation after learning the system penalizes malicious large-scale slaughter. 15 18 28 31

His desire for independence becomes more pronounced during his forest retreat. He recognizes that relying on stronger companions leaves him vulnerable and commits to sustained cultivation. This ambition also has a controlling aspect: he withholds Tian Yan’s seal-removal method so that he can grow strong enough to retain influence over her, and later makes further unsealing conditional on demonstrated loyalty. 37 57 65

Jiang Lin is willing to risk his life for those closest to him. Faced with the Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect’s attempt to take Little Dragon Girl, he accepts a potentially fatal inheritance rather than surrender her. He rejects using Xiao Wu’s identity and her powerful Soul Beast companions as an escape mechanism because doing so could expose her to persecution and endanger Da Ming and Er Ming. 48

His growing power does not eliminate his caution. He avoids Ghost Douluo during his first encounter with Hu Liena, erases evidence after killing Spirit Hall officials, retreats rather than face several powerful opponents together, and defers Two-Star Ancient God advancement when informed of its lethal planar consequences. 57 58 70 97

He also displays a playful and affectionate side in daily life, teaching Little Dragon Girl to cook, helping with her garden, teasing his companions, and testing disguises on them. He regards Little Dragon Girl as his foremost emotional attachment and considers a proper wedding necessary to honor their years together. 40 41 42 71 72

Abilities & Skills

All-Heavens Card-Drawing System

The system awards Collapse Points when Jiang Lin changes the original plot. He can spend these points on card pools containing inheritances, equipment, characters, and special forces. 2 7 16

  • Major deviations have produced rewards ranging from 100 points for the Holy Soul Village deaths to 7,300 points after Notting City’s political upheaval. 7 28
  • The system penalizes large-scale slaughter motivated by subjective malice, but does not penalize legitimate self-defense. 28
  • Summoned individuals have independent thoughts and emotions; their favorability cannot be treated as a fixed game mechanic. 35
  • Summons cannot truly harm Jiang Lin and may be forcibly returned if their favorability falls too low. 2 17
  • Favorability can unlock stages of summoned characters’ seals. Jiang Lin can choose whether to perform an available unsealing rather than being compelled to do so immediately. 57 65
  • Individuals who reach at least 70 Favorability toward him can receive system panels, allowing him to inspect Xiao Wu despite her not being a summoned character. 66
  • The system can open spatial passages for a fee; Jiang Lin spent 5,000 Collapse Points to reach the critically wounded Tian Yan in the Death Desert. 55
  • Higher currencies include Origin Points and an unidentified third currency. Further information was withheld until he accumulated 100,000 Origin Points. 51
  • World Correction Force attempts to restore the original plot after major deviations. A new-user protection clause initially concealed this mechanism; the system disclosed it when Tang San came within one hundred meters of Jiang Lin. 66
  • Killing Lian, Kurint, and Ophelia awarded 10,000 Collapse Points. The disrupted futures of Qin Ming’s group later awarded 30,000, while draining the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well awarded another 70,000. 57 93 94
  • Silver draws cost 10,000 Collapse Points each, while his first Gold draw cost 100,000. The result of that Gold draw had not yet been confirmed at the end of the available account. 61 71 97

King’s Power Sword

A Gold three-star inheritance and Jiang Lin’s publicly revealed Martial Soul. The sword possesses extraordinary sharpness, sword qi, and an oppressive sword intent despite Jiang Lin’s limited cultivation. 2 6 13

  • Its sword qi can tear through opponents internally and greatly enhances Jiang Lin’s reactions in combat. 10 14
  • King’s Power Sword Intent forms a defensive sphere of sword qi capable of blocking powerful attacks. 32
  • First Soul Skill — Void-Splitting Slash: launches a sword light that vanishes and reappears up to fifty meters away, expanding before striking. 33
  • Void-Splitting Slash consumed roughly thirty percent of his soul power per use when first acquired. 33
  • At his initial cultivation, Jiang Lin could access only a tiny fraction of the sword’s original strength. 2
  • He can selectively control the sword intent’s pressure, shielding Xiao Wu from it while suppressing surrounding opponents. 13
  • Ancient God Power allows him to enlarge the sword and give it substantial physical form without relying on a conventional Martial Soul Avatar. 52 97
Soul Skill Ring / Source Known Effects
First — Void-Splitting Slash Approximately 1,000-year Netherworld Leopard Releases sword light that disappears and reappears at a distance before expanding and striking. 33
Second — Azure-Feather Sword Wings 2,100-year Windfeather Falcon Transforms sword fragments into cyan wings, granting flight and tremendous speed. A light flap initially carried him one hundred meters; ten minutes of use consumed more than half his Soul Power. 36
Third — King’s Power Sword Shield Thousand-year ring; source unspecified Forms a golden defensive barrier. It withstands repeated attacks from a 12,000-year Earth Giant Bear, but consumes substantial Soul Power; empowered claw strikes can leave damage that prevents immediate repair. 43 44
Fourth — Thousand-Shadow Sword Formation Ten-thousand-year ring; source unspecified Creates over a thousand sword shadows connected by gray threads and marked with black eye-like patterns. The formation blinds and traps targets, while black sword qi entering their wounds erodes life force. 43 44
Fifth — Cold Crystal Frost-Breaking Slash Nearly 27,000-year Cold Crystal Python Provides a frost-based offensive ability. Jiang Lin later uses the Cold Crystal Python manifestation to penetrate the Thunder Elephant King’s lightning defenses. 45 62 96
Sixth — Thousand-Mountain Subduing-Peak Slash Hundred-thousand-year Mountain-Shaking Savage Bear Summons phantom mountains that suppress and crush a target. It pins the Thunder Elephant King and breaks its crown, leaving it vulnerable to the finishing attack. 65 96 97
Seventh — Thunderclap Heaven-Burning Slash 130,000-year Thunder Elephant King An offensive seventh soul skill rather than the usual Martial Soul Avatar; its detailed effects had not yet been demonstrated when acquired. 97

Pure Yang Flame

A Gold two-star inheritance that manifests as pale-golden divine flame and serves as Jiang Lin’s originally concealed second Martial Soul. 2 6

  • Can take the form of a flaming serpent or fire dragon to burn and pursue targets. 6 32
  • Jiang Lin believes the flame grew stronger after consuming the souls of those it burned, possibly in connection with their soul power and evil deeds. 7
  • He uses the flame to counter shadow-based concealment and to pressure faster opponents. 31 32
  • Jiang Lin initially postponed attaching a Soul Ring to it because his body could not efficiently endure the strain. 30
  • It remained without a Soul Ring when he fought the Earth Giant Bear, yet his increased cultivation allowed it to begin displaying more of the Demon-Slaying Divine Fire’s might. 44
  • It can penetrate and scorch the ground, forcing a tunneling opponent back to the surface. Jiang Lin burned the earth within a hundred-meter area during the Earth Giant Bear battle. 44
  • The flame intensified after burning Lian’s remains, which Jiang Lin interpreted as evidence of the bishop’s evil deeds. 57
  • It remains part of his high-level combat combinations, including his battles against the Thunder Elephant King. 96 97

Northern Mysterious Technique and Spiritual Veins

Jiang Lin obtained the incomplete upper volume of the Northern Mysterious Technique through a Bronze three-star inheritance card. The complete system-enhanced technique comprises Bronze, Silver, and Gold sections and reaches Gold three-star quality. Designated draws for the missing sections would require approximately 220,000 Collapse Points. 38

The inheritance placed him in an oceanic space, where he experienced life as an enormous fish. This process reforged his body and meridians and created Northern Mysterious Spiritual Veins—Incomplete, a top-grade third Martial Soul also referred to as the Northern Dark Spiritual Meridian. Unlike an ordinary Martial Soul, it cannot have Soul Rings attached. 38 41 62

  • Manifestation: white armor with a kun-like mouth at its abdomen. It automatically absorbs surrounding heaven-and-earth energy and converts it into Soul Power. 38
  • Essence Devouring: creates a vortex that rapidly draws in energy from a hundred-meter radius. Uncontrolled use can exceed Jiang Lin’s bodily capacity and nearly cause him to explode. 38
  • Purification: compresses and refines accumulated Soul Power, allowing him to stabilize excess energy absorbed through Essence Devouring. 38
  • The incomplete upper section greatly accelerated his early cultivation, but its benefit declined as he approached Soul King and became minimal after reaching that realm. 41 61

Ancient God Art and Ancient God Body

The Ancient God Art—Incomplete began as a Dark Gold three-star inheritance that required Level 50 Soul King cultivation. When Jiang Lin finally attempted it, the system revealed that its unaided success rate was only one in ten thousand and that failure meant death. He purchased Goddess of Fortune’s Favor to raise his survival chance to fifty percent. 2 48

Under Cang Xu’s guidance, Jiang Lin inherited Ancient God origin power. After returning to the physical world, he spent two days inside a blood-colored cocoon absorbing the remaining half of the origin and fusing his bodies. This completed his transformation into an Inferior One-Star Ancient God. 51

  • Ancient God Body: grants tremendous physical strength and a distinct power separate from ordinary Soul Power. His completed body bore golden eyes, bronze skin, and a purple Ancient God Star Point on his forehead. 51 52
  • Ancient God Avatar / True Body: enlarges him into a hundred-meter-tall Ancient God covered in golden divine markings. 52
  • Enhanced Martial Soul techniques: Ancient God Power strengthens his sword attacks and defenses; his transformed King’s Power Sword Shield effortlessly blocked Yu Yuanqing’s destructive lightning beam. 52
  • Annihilation Divine Light: destroyed Yu Yuanqing’s Martial Soul Avatar and fatally pierced her abdomen during her attempted escape. 53
  • Space-Breaking Fist: a technique from Cang Xu’s inheritance that shatters space to strike a target directly. It killed Lian and damaged his body too severely for conversion into a Divine Attendant. 57
  • Substitute Forbidden Technique: creates a substitute that can take a lethal attack while Jiang Lin escapes. He used it against the Thunder Elephant King’s armored charge, but suffered severe backlash injuries. 96 97
  • World Restriction: the Douluo plane cannot support the full Royal Ancient God bloodline inherited from Cang Xu. Much of that power remains sealed until Jiang Lin reaches higher-level worlds. 51
  • Cang Xu’s six-star through nine-star inheritances are scattered across different worlds. The system can retrieve them, but at an exceptionally high resource cost. 51
  • Reaching Level 74 Soul Saint unlocked the second stage of Ancient God Strength inheritance. Jiang Lin delayed becoming a Two-Star Ancient God because the resulting planar tribulation would be fatal on Douluo Continent. 97

Death-Transforming Return-to-God Seal

Jiang Lin uses the Death-Transforming Return-to-God Seal by combining Ancient God Power with his blood. The ritual repairs and reanimates corpses as Divine Attendants bearing blood-moon marks and absolute obedience to him. It does not preserve the subject’s former independent consciousness. 53 57

  • Converted Yu Yuanqing into Qingyue, retaining most of her former strength while erasing her identity and personality. A Spirit-Nurturing Divine Flower or similar treasure might eventually restore genuine awareness. 53
  • Can alter an attendant’s face and body to conceal their former identity. Jiang Lin used this function on Qingyue to prevent recognition by the Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect. 54
  • Converted Kurint and Ophelia into Blood One and Blood Two after destroying their souls. 57
  • Reforging an attendant with additional Ancient God Origin can repair their foundation and enable independent absorption of the world’s vital energy. Qingyue reached Level 85 through this enhancement. 66
  • Jiang Lin can reclaim Ancient God Power from servants he considers expendable. He treats Blood One and Blood Two as replaceable because of their limited talent. 66
  • He later transformed Ye Lingling into a Divine Attendant to obtain the future utility of her Nine-Star Begonia healing Martial Soul, intending to repair her damaged cultivation foundation after further advancement. 93

Nine Nether Profound-Heaven Divine Art and Demon Eye

Jiang Lin purchased the incomplete Nine Nether Profound-Heaven Divine Art, a Gold three-star inheritance associated with Jiang Chen, after drawing her incomplete summoning card. His first inheritance purchase received a one-time discount, allowing him to obtain the technique for 3,000 Collapse Points. 61

The inheritance involved black demonic and white sacred figures emerging from an ancient scroll. Their energies formed a controllable black eye in Jiang Lin’s palm, identified on his panel as Nine Nether Demon Eye—Incomplete, his fourth Martial Soul. 62

  • Associated soul skills are Demonic Fiend Devours Heaven, also rendered Demonic Fiend Heaven Devouring, and Soul-Chaos Sound. Their detailed effects were not established in the available account. 62 94
  • The eye contains pure Divine-Demon Qi, which Jiang Chen sought to improve her own weakened technique. Jiang Lin initially refused her request, then supplied some after confirming that doing so was safe. 65 66
  • An unidentified woman instructed him to find her at the Profound Abyss Sea, located on Eastern Extremity Star in the Third-Layer Desolate Expanse Heaven Realm. The system withheld her identity. 62

Swordsmanship and Combat Adaptation

Jiang Lin’s initial victories relied heavily on the quality of his Martial Souls, but he later recognizes his lack of practical combat experience and deliberately trains against Soul Beasts while suppressing the King’s Power Sword’s power. 30

  • Defeated Tang San despite Tang’s Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, Mysterious Jade Hand, and concealed weapons. 10
  • Overwhelmed Xiao Chenyu’s Shadow Form through superior reaction speed and ranged sword qi. 14
  • Defeated the thousand-year Netherworld Leopard through layered sword qi, Pure Yang Flame attacks, and Little Dragon Girl’s final interception. 32
  • Combined shielding, sensory suppression, life-eroding sword attacks, and subterranean fire to defeat a 12,000-year Earth Giant Bear. 44
  • Under his disguised identity, maintained an undefeated Soul Fighting Arena record and defeated Level 39 Shen Heng, the Blazing Fire Warhammer, with a single Cold Mountain Sword counterattack. 88
  • Adapted to the Thunder Elephant King’s defenses and concealed blood-red flame by using a dangerous substitute technique, charging a concentrated attack from a distance, and suppressing it with phantom mountains. 96 97

Disguised Combat Identity

Using the evolved Smiley Mask, Jiang Lin adopted the identity Xu Nuo and entered Shrek Academy’s activities while concealing his real strength. He presented the Cold Mountain Sword and Book of Mountains and Seas as part of this identity’s combat repertoire. 72 77 88 93

  • Claimed to possess twin Martial Souls and three Soul Rings on the Cold Mountain Sword. The sword produced extreme cold and falling snow when supplied with Soul Power. 77
  • Demonstrated Third Soul Skill — Heavy Mountain Shield through the Book of Mountains and Seas, generating condensed mountain phantoms. 77
  • Deliberately acted as though Ning Rongrong’s low-level support produced a substantial improvement, although its actual benefit to him was negligible. 76 77

Black Shadow Ten-Man Squad

A Black Iron three-star special corps summoned through Jiang Lin’s first card draw. Each Shadow Ninja has Level 20 Great Soul Master strength and fixed favorability of 60. 7

  • Soul Skills: Shadow Following; Shadow Cage. 7
  • Combined Skill: Shadow God Claw, whose strength rises with the number of participating ninjas. 7
  • All ten were ultimately assigned to guard Old Jack and evacuate him if necessary. 30

Everplain Jiang Clan Forces

The Everplain Jiang Clan began as a fabricated lineage used to intimidate opponents, but Jiang Lin subsequently decided to establish it as a genuine organization capable of influencing Douluo Continent after he departed for other worlds. Qingyue’s creation marked the beginning of this shift. 35 53

  • Qingyue: former Yu Yuanqing, converted into a Divine Attendant. Jiang Lin ordered her to regard Little Dragon Girl and Xiao Wu as clan leaders equal to him in authority. 53
  • Blood Shadow Guards: Blood One and Blood Two, created from the Spirit Hall Cardinals Kurint and Ophelia. 57
  • Ye Lingling: a later Divine Attendant selected for her valuable healing Martial Soul. 93
  • Web Assassin Corps card: a Silver-pool reward containing two hundred assassins ranging from Soul Elder to Soul Emperor. Jiang Lin initially declined to summon or enhance the corps because he considered the cost-benefit ratio poor; the corps later appeared in his system’s summoning list. 71 94

Equipment & Items

  • Ancient God Art Fragment — Dark Gold three-star inheritance; initially unusable until Level 50 Soul King. Jiang Lin later accepted it during the Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect crisis and completed the One-Star Ancient God transformation. 2 48 51
  • Purple Storage Ring — Recovered from Xiao Shan’s possessions; contained 17,000 Gold Soul Coins, meditation techniques, and miscellaneous items. 28
  • Martial Soul Hall identity token — Given by Su Yuntao after Jiang Lin’s awakening. 6
  • Spirit-Gathering Pill — Bronze one-star draw reward that improves energy absorption for three days. 36
  • Yin-Yang Bliss Powder — Obtained during his forest card draws and retained in later inventory panels. 37 41 94
  • Earth Giant Bear right arm Soul Bone — Approximately twelve thousand years old. Jiang Lin regarded its enhancement as limited and planned to sell it for two or three million Gold Soul Coins. 44
  • Cold Crystal Python Trunk Soul Bone — Rare Soul Bone recovered when he killed the nearly 27,000-year python; stored rather than immediately absorbed in the available account. 45
  • Goddess of Fortune’s Favor — Purchased for 3,500 Collapse Points and activated to raise the Ancient God inheritance’s survival probability to fifty percent. 48
  • Healing Art card — Used to heal Tian Yan’s critical injuries in the Death Desert. 55
  • Vermilion Ghost Mask — Bronze three-star equipment that conceals appearance and aura and generates armor according to the wearer’s thoughts. Jiang Lin gave it to Tian Yan because it could no longer adequately conceal his Ancient God Power. 57 58
  • Suotuo City entry token — Silver token provided by Ye Qing under the city’s security measures following an Evil Soul Master assassination attempt. 58
  • Wang Quanbayue’s Smiley Mask — Drawn from the Silver Card Pool and upgraded with an Intermediate Evolution Stone into Gold one-star equipment. It changes appearance, aura, voice, and clothing, although concealment has limits against powerful Gold-rank opponents. 71
  • Intermediate Evolution Stone — Used to upgrade the Smiley Mask without paying the normal 30,000-point second-tier evolution cost. 71
  • Cold Mountain Sword and Book of Mountains and Seas — Used in the Xu Nuo identity’s sword and mountain-based combat demonstrations. 77 88

Relationships

  • Old Jack — Guardian and the closest thing Jiang Lin has to family. Old Jack rescued him after Alto’s assault and later risked his life to protect him; Jiang Lin protects him with Shadow Ninjas and vows to avenge the injuries inflicted by Yu Yuanpo. 2 5 29 30
  • Little Dragon Girl — First summoned companion and Jiang Lin’s primary emotional attachment. Her favorability rose from 40 to 50 after he killed the villagers who threatened her and Old Jack, then reached 55 after the Everplain City promise. Five years of shared forest life raised it to 75, and a further year brought it to 83. Jiang Lin teaches her practical skills, helps cultivate her garden, regards her as foremost in his heart, and wants to honor their relationship with a proper wedding. She recognizes him through emotional familiarity even when his Smiley Mask deceives Tian Yan’s special sight. 2 8 35 40 41 42 65 72
  • Tian Yan — Summoned Soul King and independent ally. Jiang Lin bargained three future acts of assistance in exchange for the means to increase her strength, though her favorability fell from 40 to 37 after she misunderstood his visit to Suke’s guardroom. She later left rather than accept his continued withholding of her seal-removal method. After Jiang Lin rescued her from near death, her favorability reached 60 and she pledged her life to him. He subsequently removed her first seal after satisfactory conduct, but remained cautious about unlocking the next stage when her favorability reached 65. 17 18 37 55 57 65
  • Xiao Wu — Dormitory Seven challenger who became increasingly close to Jiang Lin after losing their spar. Jiang Lin knows she is a transformed hundred-thousand-year Soul Beast but protects that secret. She left the forest cabin to return home and rejoined him five years later. Jiang Lin promises to protect her indefinitely and explicitly resolves to prevent her original timeline’s sacrificial fate; her favorability reaches 71. 11 12 30 34 37 41 43 66
  • Tang San — Initially distant village acquaintance and later a hostile academy rival. Jiang Lin defeated him in their duel and privately views him as a source of future Collapse Points rather than a friend. Their later proximity activates the system’s warning about World Correction Force, making Tang San significant as the world’s fated protagonist as well as a personal rival. 1 8 10 66
  • Yu Xiaogang — Offered to accept Jiang Lin as a disciple, but Jiang Lin refused because he considered Yu Xiaogang unqualified to teach him. Their mutual dislike intensified after Jiang Lin’s clash with Tang San. 9 10
  • Meng Yiran — Initially fought Jiang Lin over a mutated Black-Scaled Viper. Jiang Lin yielded the Soul Beast to avoid Chao Tianxiang and Meng Shu, after which Meng Yiran declared that she would defeat him in the future. 34 35
  • Cang Xu — Ancient God whose incomplete inheritance transforms Jiang Lin’s body and supplies memories of divine techniques. His Royal Ancient God bloodline remains restricted by the Douluo plane, and his later inheritances are scattered across other worlds. 51 53
  • Qingyue / Yu Yuanqing — Originally a Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect Soul Douluo assigned to secure Little Dragon Girl’s submission. Jiang Lin killed her and transformed her into Qingyue, an absolutely obedient Divine Attendant. He later changed her appearance, entrusted his companions’ protection to her, and reforged her foundation with Ancient God Origin. 48 53 54 55 66
  • Jiang Chen — Summoned Corpse Ancestor sharing the Nine Nether inheritance’s origin. Her initial favorability of 50 produces an unexpectedly affectionate greeting, but Jiang Lin later identifies her interest in his Divine-Demon Qi as a major motive. After verifying that sharing it is safe, he empowers her, giving himself protection against opponents such as Sword Douluo Chen Xin. She reaches Level 92 with Level 97 combat strength and agrees to guard the group during his solo departure. 62 65 66 72
  • Hu Liena — Spirit Hall member encountered on the Lima Plains. Jiang Lin defeats four Black Wolf Gang attackers but also lightly injures her with the same palm strike. He leaves after sensing Gui Mei approaching, telling her that they will meet again. 58
  • Tang Hao — A powerful figure Jiang Lin recognized from their first village meeting. During a later confrontation, Jiang Lin openly identifies him as the former Clear Sky Douluo and invokes Spirit Hall’s pursuit of him. 8 68
  • Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect — An enemy faction connected both to Old Jack’s injuries and the attempted seizure of Little Dragon Girl. Jiang Lin’s resentment extends to Yu Tianheng and influences his later hostility toward the Imperial Fighting Team. 29 48 89
  • Zhu Zhuqing — Shrek companion encountered under Jiang Lin’s concealed identity. He helps her during exhausting physical training, and she becomes accustomed to his swift arena victories. 81 88
  • Ning Rongrong — Shrek companion whose support skills Jiang Lin accepts while concealing how little they actually strengthen him. His plans to approach her also motivate his decision to strengthen Jiang Chen against Chen Xin. 66 76 77
  • Zhao Wuji — Shrek teacher who directs Jiang Lin’s arena requirements and shows willingness to protect him from retaliation. Jiang Lin appreciates this loyalty but declines to shift responsibility for his own actions onto him. 88 90
  • Ye Lingling — Former Imperial Fighting Team member forcibly taken and transformed into a Divine Attendant for the utility of her Nine-Star Begonia healing Martial Soul. Jiang Lin plans to restore and improve her cultivation foundation after further Ancient God advancement. 93
  • Pursuers / Wild Hunt Temple — Shadowy observers interested in testing and potentially recruiting him, with elimination threatened if he rejects their ideals. Jiang Lin later suspects pursuing enemies of impersonating the Mountain-Sea Sword Demon to frame him for Qin Ming’s group’s deaths. 88 93

While seeking his second Soul Ring, Jiang Lin clashes with Meng Yiran and Chao Tianxiang. Unable to face the hidden Meng Shu, he avoids escalation by surrendering the mutated Black-Scaled Viper and fabricating the Everplain Jiang Clan. 34 35

Using snake meat as bait, Jiang Lin subsequently attracts a 2,100-year Windfeather Falcon. Little Dragon Girl freezes and weakens it, allowing him to deliver the killing blow. Its Soul Ring advances him to Level 28 and grants flight through Azure-Feather Sword Wings. 36

Five-Year Forest Retreat

Jiang Lin decides to remain in the Star Dou Forest for five or six years to cultivate. Xiao Wu returns home, while Tian Yan leaves after he refuses her demand for immediate disclosure of the seal-removal method. Left with Little Dragon Girl, Jiang Lin resumes drawing cards and obtains the Northern Mysterious Technique’s upper volume. 37 38

The inheritance creates his third Martial Soul and supplies a cultivation method, although his first experiment with Essence Devouring nearly overwhelms his body. Little Dragon Girl reprimands him for risking himself without warning her, then becomes increasingly involved in their shared domestic life. 38 40

Over five years, Jiang Lin cultivates steadily, teaches Little Dragon Girl practical skills, and helps her establish a garden of Deep Blue Starflowers. By age eleven, he reaches Level 49 and gains two additional King’s Power Sword skills. Xiao Wu’s return ends their prolonged separation, and the three plant Star-Dream Rose seeds inherited from her deceased mother. 40 41 42

Fifth Soul Ring and Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect Crisis

After reaching Level 50, Jiang Lin enters the forest’s inner region to hunt a nearly 27,000-year Cold Crystal Python. Along the way, he defeats a 12,000-year Earth Giant Bear and recovers its right arm Soul Bone. Little Dragon Girl then gravely wounds the python, allowing Jiang Lin to kill it, collect a Trunk Soul Bone, and begin absorbing his fifth ring. 43 44 45

Powerful Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect members intervene and demand Little Dragon Girl’s submission. Jiang Lin outwardly cooperates to buy time, while Yu Yuanqing is left to oversee the group. Once she departs temporarily, he decides that the dangerous Ancient God inheritance is their only viable means of resisting the sect without exposing Xiao Wu. 47 48

With Goddess of Fortune’s Favor improving his odds, Jiang Lin survives the inheritance and completes his One-Star Ancient God Body. He overwhelms Yu Yuanqing, pursues her escape, and kills her with Annihilation Divine Light. He then converts her corpse into Qingyue and begins turning the formerly fictional Everplain Jiang Clan into a real force. 48 51 52 53

Tian Yan’s Rescue and Spirit Hall Conflict

When Tian Yan is in mortal danger, Jiang Lin spends 5,000 Collapse Points to travel to her location in the Death Desert. He sends Little Dragon Girl and Xiao Wu ahead to Suotuo City under Qingyue’s protection, heals Tian Yan, and carries her toward shelter. 55

Spirit Hall officials identify Tian Yan as the thief who took books from their archives and attempt to capture both of them. Jiang Lin kills Lian with Space-Breaking Fist and converts Kurint and Ophelia into Blood Shadow Guards, earning 10,000 Collapse Points. Tian Yan awakens, acknowledges his rescue, and pledges her life to him. 55 57

After concealing the battle’s evidence and allowing Tian Yan to recover, Jiang Lin equips her with the Vermilion Ghost Mask. On the Lima Plains, he briefly intervenes in Hu Liena’s battle against the Black Wolf Gang, then withdraws before Gui Mei can confront him. 57 58

Suotuo City and the Nine Nether Inheritance

Jiang Lin reunites with his companions in Suotuo City and resumes cultivating. When the incomplete Northern Mysterious Technique proves inadequate for rapid Soul King advancement, he spends 10,000 Collapse Points on a Silver draw, obtains Jiang Chen’s summoning card, and purchases her associated Nine Nether Profound-Heaven Divine Art. 61

The inheritance creates the Nine Nether Demon Eye and introduces the mystery of the Profound Abyss Sea. Jiang Chen’s summoning produces an unexpectedly affectionate greeting that causes tension with Little Dragon Girl and Xiao Wu. Soon afterward, Earl Sein arrives with Spirit Hall’s Bishop Ellington to avenge Vilant, but Qingyue overwhelms his guards and confronts him. 62 63

Qingyue’s defeat of Sein establishes a fearsome local reputation for Jiang Lin, prompting the Rose Grand Hotel’s manager to provide free lodging and other favors. Over the next year, Jiang Lin advances to Level 68 Soul Emperor with Level 95 Titled Douluo combat strength, while his companions also improve substantially. 65

Tang San’s Return and Concealed Departure

Tang San’s arrival near Jiang Lin triggers the system’s disclosure of World Correction Force. Jiang Lin reviews his companions’ strength, resolves to protect Xiao Wu from her original fate, and prepares to confront the renewed influence of the world’s fated protagonist. 66

During the ensuing period, he displays his exceptional six-ring configuration and confronts Tang Hao with knowledge of the latter’s concealed identity. Despite his strength, Jiang Lin later retreats rather than allow several powerful opponents to exhaust his Ancient God Power. 67 68 70

He spends three Silver draws on a Smiley Mask, a Web Assassin Corps card, and an Intermediate Evolution Stone. After upgrading the mask, he impersonates Jiang Chen so convincingly that Tian Yan cannot expose the disguise; only Little Dragon Girl recognizes him. He then entrusts the group’s safety to Jiang Chen and leaves alone disguised as a teal-robed young swordsman. 71 72

Shrek Academy and Soul Fighting Arena

Under the identity Xu Nuo, Jiang Lin participates in Shrek Academy’s activities while carefully concealing his actual strength. He demonstrates the Cold Mountain Sword and Book of Mountains and Seas, cooperates with Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, and Xiao Xun, and stages a convincing performance against Zhao Wuji. 76 77

He helps Zhu Zhuqing during strenuous training and establishes an undefeated arena record. His one-counterattack defeat of Shen Heng reinforces his reputation, while a Pursuer connected to the Wild Hunt Temple considers recruiting or eliminating him depending on his ideological compatibility. 81 88

His lingering resentment toward the Blue Lightning Tyrant Sect influences his treatment of Dugu Yan and Yu Tianheng’s circle. When Zhao Wuji offers protection from the resulting retaliation, Jiang Lin appreciates the gesture but intends to bear responsibility himself and leave to seize the immortal herbs at the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 89 90

Heaven Dou City and the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

Jiang Lin arrives in Heaven Dou City with Ye Lingling, whom he has transformed into a Divine Attendant. He learns that Qin Ming and Imperial Fighting Team students have been killed by someone using his Mountain-Sea Sword Demon identity. Suspecting an impostor connected to his pursuers, he postpones retaliation until after obtaining the immortal herbs. The altered futures of Qin Ming’s group award him 30,000 Collapse Points. 93

At the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well, Jiang Lin finds Dugu Bo absent and subdues the Infernal Delicate Apricot and Octagonal Mysterious Ice Grass with Ancient God Power. He drains their origin energy, reducing them to ash and severely depleting the Well’s natural energy. The process raises him from Level 69 to Level 70 and earns 70,000 Collapse Points, bringing his total to 111,000. 94

Thunder Elephant King and Soul Saint Breakthrough

Seeking his seventh Soul Ring, Jiang Lin returns to the Star Dou Forest and challenges a previously unknown 130,000-year Thunder Elephant King. The beast’s durability and concealed blood-red fire force him to fight cautiously. He uses a substitute to escape its armored charge, sustaining heavy backlash injuries while preparing a concentrated attack from several thousand meters away. 96 97

Thousand-Mountain Subduing-Peak Slash pins and cripples the beast, allowing Jiang Lin to finish it with his sword and Pure Yang Flame. After absorbing its ring for two hours, he reaches Level 74 Soul Saint, acquires Thunderclap Heaven-Burning Slash, and receives a Level 99 Limit Douluo combat rating. 97

Although the second Ancient God inheritance stage becomes available, Jiang Lin defers advancement after learning that a Two-Star transformation would provoke a fatal planar tribulation. He instead spends 100,000 Collapse Points on his first Gold draw; the reward remains unconfirmed at the end of the chapter. 97

Trivia

  • Jiang Lin publicly tested at Innate Soul Power 9, but later told Old Jack that he possesses Innate Full Soul Power alongside Twin High-grade Martial Souls. 6 29
  • He deliberately maintains false identities for protection, first claiming a secluded Jiang Clan and later expanding the story into the Everplain Jiang Clan of the Death Desert. 21 29 35
  • His first Soul Ring is approximately one thousand years old, exceeding the normal first-ring limit recognized by the setting. 33
  • His Northern Mysterious Spiritual Veins cannot receive Soul Rings, despite being identified as a top-grade Martial Soul. 38
  • At age eleven, he had reached approximately 1.7 meters in height. Completing the Ancient God Body later gave him a muscular form just over two meters tall, bronze skin, golden eyes, and a purple forehead star. 40 51 52
  • His promise to show Little Dragon Girl Everplain City becomes a source of resolve when he faces the potentially fatal Ancient God inheritance. 35 48
  • The evolved Smiley Mask can reproduce another person’s appearance closely enough to fool Tian Yan’s Martial Soul, but Little Dragon Girl recognizes him through familiarity rather than visual evidence. 71 72
  • Jiang Lin initially believed Soul Saint advancement would allow him to become a Two-Star Ancient God and overwhelm Limit Douluo opponents. The system later clarified that advancing on the Douluo plane would trigger a lethal tribulation. 66 97
  • His seventh King’s Power Sword skill is an attack rather than the conventional Martial Soul Avatar. He considers this useful because Ancient God Power already allows him to enlarge and materialize the sword. 97
  • The wider cosmology disclosed to him includes thirty-six Heaven Realms and seventy-two Earth Realms. Free entry into those realms requires power around the Heaven Trampling Realm. 62
  • Jiang Lin suspects that draining the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well may alter events as far ahead as the later Peerless Tang Sect era. 94
