Background and History

The King’s Power Sword was one of four items in Jiang Lin’s Novice Gift Pack, listed as the Heaven-and-Earth Sword: Royal Authority Sword, a Gold three-star inheritance. Jiang Lin chose to inherit it immediately despite the agonizing process: boundless gilded sword qi entered his brow in what he described as the pain of ten thousand swords piercing the heart. 2

After inheriting it, Jiang Lin could summon an ancient silver-white sword engraved with “King’s Power” on its guard. A casual swing produced invisible sword qi that carved a three-foot mark into a wall. Although Jiang Lin considered this output lacking, the system explained that his cultivation allowed access to only a tiny fraction of the weapon’s true strength. 2

Jiang Lin publicly awakened the sword at Holy Soul Village’s Martial Soul ceremony, deliberately keeping its deeper qualities concealed and hiding his second Martial Soul, the Pure Yang Flame. Su Yuntao nonetheless recognized it as a high-grade Martial Soul and invited Jiang Lin to join Martial Soul Hall; Jiang Lin refused. 6

Upon arriving at Notting Academy, Jiang Lin summoned the sword to defend Old Jack from the gatekeeper, severing the man's leg before he could retaliate. 8

An early major combat use came during Jiang Lin’s clash with Tang San. Its fine sword qi tore through Tang San’s incompletely mastered Mysterious Jade Hand, and Jiang Lin later held its point at Tang San’s throat despite Tang San revealing the Clear Sky Hammer. 10

Against Kus and Xiao Chenyu, Jiang Lin revealed more of the sword’s suppressed power. Its blade became coated in golden light, dragon scales appeared along the hilt, and its sword intent filled the dormitory with pressure severe enough to make most observers tremble. 13 Jiang Lin then used its sharpness and sword qi to defeat Xiao Chenyu’s Night Wolf Martial Soul and expose the conspiracy behind the attack. 14

Still without displaying Soul Rings, Jiang Lin later used the sword to kill Masina and retaliate against Suke. Tian Yan recognized a destructive aura from the weapon, sensing that it could cut down anything. 18

In the Star Dou Forest, Jiang Lin began attaching Soul Rings to the sword. He selected soul beasts according to its defining traits—extreme sharpness, sword qi, and heightened reaction speed—rather than indiscriminately seeking stronger rings. 30 Its first two rings granted ranged spatial cutting and flight, while later rings expanded its defense and area-control capabilities. 33 36 41

Jiang Lin also used the forest hunts to improve his practical swordsmanship. Recognizing that his earlier victories had depended heavily on the sword's exceptional grade, he suppressed most of its power while fighting Gale Wind Demon Wolves so that he could train rather than simply overpower them. 30

After reaching Level 50 Soul Power, Jiang Lin selected the nearly 27,000-year Cold Crystal Python for his fifth ring, seeking a new means of attack for the sword. Its exceptionally high grade allowed it to bear a ring beyond the normal limits of Soul Masters at his realm. Little Dragon Girl inflicted the main injuries on the python, after which Jiang Lin finished it with the sword and Pure Yang Flame and began absorbing its black ring. 43 45 The resulting fifth skill, Cold Crystal Frost-Breaking Slash, was later tested against Spirit Hall's Kurint and Ophelia. 56

The Ancient God inheritance substantially increased the sword's battlefield scale and defensive strength. Against Yu Yuanqing, Jiang Lin infused it with Ancient God Power, enlarged it to seventy meters, cut apart hundreds of lightning chains, and severed part of her dragon wing. Its enhanced shield then blocked her Destructive Lightning Beam, causing her to abandon the fight and flee. 52

By age twelve, Jiang Lin had obtained a red sixth ring from the hundred-thousand-year Mountain-Shaking Savage Bear and acquired Thousand-Mountain Subduing-Peak Slash. 65 67 96 During his renewed confrontation with Tang San, he effortlessly blocked poisoned Godly Zhuge Crossbow bolts and deflected concealed silver needles back toward their user. A subsequent golden sword strike nearly killed Tang San before Tang Hao intervened and destroyed it. 68

Against Tang Hao, Jiang Lin enhanced the sword with devouring erosion and sacred purification. Their initial clash forced Tang Hao backward despite his Clear Sky Hammer. Jiang Lin then used Ancient God Power to unleash Thousand-Mountain Subduing-Peak Slash, compelling Tang Hao to answer with his Weapon Spirit True Body and eighty-one Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer strikes. Their collision destroyed the Rose Grand Hotel and devastated the surrounding area within a thousand meters. 69 Tang Hao ultimately withdrew, while Jiang Lin also retreated upon sensing approaching Spirit Hall Titled Douluo. 70

For his seventh ring, Jiang Lin challenged the 130,000-year Thunder Elephant King. The beast's exceptional durability and concealed flame attack forced him to adopt a more dangerous strategy: he evaded its charge with the Ancient God Tribe's Substitute Forbidden Technique while preparing a concentrated sword attack. 96 97 Thousand-Mountain Subduing-Peak Slash pinned the beast beneath solidified phantom mountains, allowing Jiang Lin to pierce its upper neck and conduct Pure Yang Flame through the sword into its body. After the beast died, he absorbed its ring and reached Level 74 Soul Saint, gaining Thunderclap Heaven-Burning Slash. 97

After the breakthrough and a Gold-card draw, Jiang Lin erased every trace of the Thunder Elephant King battle with a casual sweep of the sword. 98

Appearance

The manifested sword is an antique silver-white blade with a traditional design. The words “King’s Power” are engraved on its guard. 2
