Awakening

Martial Souls are awakened through a ritual array formed from six awakening stones. An awakened individual is then tested for Innate Soul Power, which determines whether and how quickly they can begin cultivation. 1 2 3

Cultivation and Spirit Rings

A Martial Soul develops through Soul Power cultivation and the absorption of Spirit Rings. Ring selection is treated as a foundational decision, particularly for the first ring, because it influences a soul master’s future development and skill set. 9

Soul Skill Acquisition

Spirit Rings grant Soul Skills whose effects depend on both the source soul beast and the Martial Soul receiving them.

• Tidefang — Kyogre’s first Soul Skill, obtained from a Tidal Marsh Crocodile; produces crescent water blades containing destructive oceanic pressure. 10 11
• Tidal Ring — Kyogre’s second Soul Skill; its High Tide form creates barriers, restores Soul Power, and promotes healing, while Low Tide applies gravitational restraint. 40
• Bewildering Rain Mist — Kyogre’s third Soul Skill; creates a mist that obscures vision, spiritual senses, direction, time, and spatial awareness. 50
• Sky-Sea Final Burial — Rayquaza’s first Hundred Thousand Year Soul Skill; distinguishes targets for judgment from those granted protection, then combines battlefield suppression with catastrophic sea-based destruction. 51 52
• Heaven-Sea Dragon Court · Ten Thousand Dragons Paying Homage — A growable Hundred Thousand Year Soul Skill that strengthens allies, grants dragon-scale protection, and suppresses enemies’ will to fight. 52

Manifestation and Possession

Martial Soul release can create a visible phantom, alter the wielder’s body, and affect the surrounding environment. Possession forms vary widely even among similar Martial Souls. 10 11

• Kyogre manifests as a colossal deep-blue whale-like divine beast with crimson markings, torrential rain, surging seawater, and overwhelming oceanic pressure. 2
• Kyogre possession surrounds Su Ming with a whale phantom, creates crimson body markings and golden vertical pupils, and continuously gathers water and ice around him. 10
• Rayquaza possession produces jade-green horns, emerald hair, golden slit pupils, azure scales, and an aura that commands the air itself. 7
• Rayquaza’s inherited Deep Sea Demon Whale power can produce Demon God Manifestation, a dark draconic form combining divinity, devouring power, and the Demon Empress’s source energy. 34

Documented Types and Variants

Divine Martial Souls

Su Ming’s Rayquaza, Kyogre, and Groudon retain divine authority despite becoming Martial Souls. Their power is normally restrained, but their full manifestations can overwhelm even the Demon Empress. 24 25

• Rayquaza, God of the Sky — A superior true dragon associated with the heavens, storms, and dragon-type authority. 7 24
• Kyogre, God of the Sea — An oceanic divine beast with authority over water-related elements and sea pressure. 2 10 24
• Groudon, God of the Earth — A crimson divine beast whose manifestation cracks the ground and radiates intense heat. 3 24
• The three Martial Souls autonomously concealed Su Ming’s fate from the God Realm, causing Tang San and the God Realm to perceive him as an ordinary person without exceptional talent. 4
• They also act instinctively to protect Su Ming from mental interference and catastrophic strain during the Demon Empress’s Fusion Sacrifice. 32 58
