Background / History

Su Ming was born in Salted Fish Village to Su Long, a Whale Martial Soul Soul Emperor, and Zhou Yun, a Sea Shark Martial Soul Soul King. Unlike his parents, who retired from the Soul Master world to live peacefully by the sea, Su Ming's transmigration knowledge and ability to communicate with soul beasts gave him ambitions far beyond an ordinary life. Before awakening his Martial Soul, he had already devised a plan to find the future Demon Empress and persuade her to sacrifice herself in exchange for a path to revenge against Tang San. 1 2

His awakening surpassed every expectation. Su Ming first manifested Kyogre, a sacred whale-like Martial Soul whose emergence summoned rain, turbulent water, and crushing bloodline pressure. He subsequently discovered Groudon and Rayquaza within himself, making him the holder of three True God-level Martial Souls. The three souls instinctively spent much of their divine power concealing his fate from Tang San and the God Realm, causing divine observers to perceive him as an ordinary, talentless person. 2 3 4

Through his maternal family's reconnection with the Yu Clan, Su Ming learned that he was related to the Heavenly Dragon Sect. The dying former sect master Yu Xuanhua and current sect master Yu Xingtuo recognized his potential and committed the sect's resources to nurturing him. Su Ming accepted their support, promised to become the sect's future guardian Douluo, and strategically revealed Rayquaza as a second Martial Soul—while continuing to hide Groudon. 5 7 8

Appearance

Su Ming is regarded as unusually handsome and carries an exceptional bearing despite his young age. His ordinary appearance is not described in detail, but his Martial Soul possession forms are visibly divine rather than conventionally beast-like. 13 15

• Kyogre possession — A translucent deep-blue whale phantom surrounds him; crimson markings spread over his body, his eyes become golden vertical pupils, and water, ice crystals, and damp mist gather around him. 10

Personality

Su Ming is calculating, ambitious, and unusually mature for his age. He treats dangerous undertakings—such as approaching the Demon Empress—not as reckless gambles but as long-term investments backed by preparation, future knowledge, and his divine Martial Souls. His ultimate goal is not merely becoming a Title Douluo: he intends to forge his own Godhood, establish an independent God Realm, and become a Creator God capable of challenging Tang San and the God Realm. 1 4 24

He is highly pragmatic about resources and alliances. He revealed Rayquaza to secure the Heavenly Dragon Sect's complete support, accepted an engagement to Nan Qiuqiu without agreeing to exclusivity, and aided Jiang Nannan partly because she was a valuable potential recruit. Nevertheless, he values genuine kindness, intends to repay the Heavenly Dragon Sect's support, reassures his parents, and makes concrete preparations for Lan Fozu's safety after the Demon Empress entrusts her to him. 8 16 18 20 29

First Soul Ring and Earth Dragon Sect

After obtaining his first soul ring from a Tidal Marsh Crocodile, Su Ming developed Tidefang and began specialized instruction at the Heavenly Dragon Sect. He later sparred with Nan Qiuqiu, defeated her by countering the Rouge Dragon's Annihilation Attribute, and became engaged to her as part of a political alliance between the Heavenly Dragon and Earth Dragon Sects. 10 14 16

Xuanyuan City and Recruitment

During a trip home, Su Ming recognized the Xuanming Sect's hidden influence in Xuanyuan City and intervened when Jiang Nannan could not afford medicine for her mother. He used the opportunity to recruit her through financial support, medical treatment, and access to sect resources. 17 18 19

Demon Empress Alliance

Su Ming used sea soul beasts to spread a coded message about the Deep Sea Demon Whale King's death, eventually drawing out the Demon Empress. He convinced her of his fabricated divine background by manifesting all three Martial Souls, then proposed that she become Rayquaza's first soul ring through voluntary sacrifice.
