Where the hell had I ended up?

The question suddenly surfaced in Lin Jun's mind.

Compared with the fox bones on Thousand Dwelling Island, that skull was tiny—no bigger than his palm.

More bones lay scattered beneath the ground, looking as though they were about to crumble into powder.

Just then, an image flickered above the skull, and a figure no longer than an arm stood atop it.

"It's a Recording Stone. Who knows how long it's been here? It may have been placed here five thousand years ago."

Lao Xu suddenly emerged and looked around.

"Are you done?"

"Not even close."

Lao Xu smiled. The soil had gone untended for five thousand years and had long since lost its original properties. Making it effective again would probably take another fifty years of refinement.

But when he saw that Lin Jun had come here, he came out without even stopping to rest.

"This place was probably meant to leave a message, and most likely for you. After all, you're still Ling Zhi's child in name."

Lao Xu laughed heartily. He had come to accept everything. As long as Lin Jun could revive the Celestial Fox Clan, there was still hope.

Then Lao Xu pointed at the figure.

"Let's hear what he has to say. This Recording Stone has been modified. The figure inside retains some intelligence, so he can answer a few of your questions too."

Sure enough, as soon as Lao Xu finished speaking, the figure spoke.

"By order of Clan Leader Su Ming, I have waited here for the young clan leader."

Young clan leader?

After becoming lord of the Demon Kingdom, Lin Jun had gained yet another title.

Unfortunately, the Demon Kingdom had fallen, and so had the Celestial Fox Clan. Both titles were empty names.
