Seven days passed in the blink of an eye.
The Tiele Chiefdom's assembly grounds were as noisy as tourist attractions during the holidays—if not worse.
By now, the number of orcs, half-orcs, and humans gathered here had exceeded one hundred thousand.
"High Priest, I heard we received a reply from the Dawn Kingdom?"
Ragehorn, the Minotaur chieftain, rode his beloved giant red bull at full speed to the highest point of the assembly grounds, his deep voice ringing out at once.
"Yes."
The High Priest seemed both angry and pleased, leaving Ragehorn somewhat unable to make sense of it.
However, he did not dwell on it, because he had heard the words he most wanted to hear—war!
The army of one hundred thousand broke camp and marched out.
As the vanguard, Ragehorn led his troops at the very front.
They wore brand-new armor, rode giant bulls bearing the distinctive marks of their tribes, and carried banners emblazoned with their tribal totems. They marched onward without much chatter, even singing ballads that belonged to their tribes...
"Upon the vast grasslands, the Minotaurs stand unbowed! Battle axes swing, our vows resound through the skies! For glory, for our homeland, we set forth! Conquer all, and let the Minotaurs' name spread across the four corners of the world!"
Their voices resounded between heaven and earth, their momentum seemingly magnificent.
Yet such a sight was uncommon throughout this army of one hundred thousand—indeed, exceedingly rare.
Even among the large tribes that were fellow members of the Council, few possessed troops this elite.
Whether it was a custom of the Tiele Chiefdom, a failure of management, or faith in the War God, the entire force had fallen into a jubilant atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be eagerly awaiting the coming war. In their minds, it was as if they possessed immortal bodies—no matter what happened next, they would not die, only gain endless spoils and glory that belonged to them... In such an atmosphere, the soldiers simply chatted cheerfully with those around them as they marched onward.
Anyone unaware of the situation might have thought that one hundred thousand orcs were out on a spring excursion...
The entire force was in utter disarray. If they had not all been heading in the same direction, there might already have been massive trampling incidents. It was chaotic to an absurd degree.
That was hardly surprising. This army had been assembled from over a thousand tribes.
Getting so many orcs from all corners of the world to cooperate with one another was harder than climbing to the heavens!
The Rabbitfolk and Eaglefolk gathering together without eating each other was already rare! How could they possibly cooperate? Being able to march toward the Dawn Kingdom for a shared goal was already no small feat. At the very least, that was what the Tiele Chiefdom's High Priest believed.
At the center of the formation, the High Priest watched it all, the smile on his face unmistakable.
As long as they reached the Dawn Kingdom's border, as long as they joined the battlefield, it did not matter whether they could unleash much fighting strength. Once they arrived, they would become part of the battlefield—become the finest sacrifices for the War God's Miracle...
Thinking of the hundreds of thousands of troops already gathered, and of the slower forces chasing after the main army from behind—many of whom had not even made it to the assembly grounds, yet were genuine military strength and would gradually be thrown into the battlefield—the High Priest's expression grew even more delighted.
Soldiers from remote regions, soldiers who had arrived late, would join the formation one after another... He even felt that by the time the war officially began, they could have one hundred and twenty thousand soldiers. No, they could have one hundred and fifty thousand soldiers!
What an enormous number!
Their side had so many troops, and the Dawn Kingdom surely had no small number either. In a war of such vast scale, what miraculous wonder would the War God bestow?!
His excitement was written all over his face.
Dawn Kingdom.
At the gateway to the Westlands, Twilight City, a group of riders galloped into the city at full speed.
"Countess Lucina Herick, it has been a long time..."
The commander of the Western Border Guard Army had barely begun his greeting when Lucina Herick cut him off. "This is a battlefield. Address me as Wolf General!"
Looking at this countess from the Northlands, clad in wolf pelts, tall in stature, and radiating an imposing aura with an unconsciously fierce edge, the guard army commander felt his pressure multiply. "My apologies, Wolf General."
Recalling the war that had broken out in the Northlands not long ago—when legendary monsters breached Watcher's Wall and entered the Northlands, and this young general had wiped them all out without outside support—along with the fact that her soldiers were now the kingdom's only legion that had learned to use "technological creations" and had combat experience, the guard army commander's expression became even more solemn.
After only a slight pause, he went straight to the point. "Word has come from the capital. You are to take full charge of the defensive affairs of Twilight City's Technology Legion. When can you assume command? Our scouts report that the Tiele Chiefdom's army has already set out!"
"At any time!"
Lucina's tone was stern. "However, I need to know first: how many Mana Bombs and Ray Guns have we stockpiled? How many magic apprentices do we have? And how many catapults, archers, and throwers?"
The guard army commander pondered briefly. "One hundred and fifty thousand Mana Bombs, twelve hundred Ray Guns, and fifty thousand energy modules. We have fewer than three thousand magic apprentices. Reinforcements from the capital are still on the way..."
He was not particularly surprised that Lucina knew they possessed these magical weapons.
Magic Web communication had become extremely convenient. Transmitting information and dispatching soldiers had both become much simpler because of it. If she did not know this information, he would instead have doubted whether she possessed the ability to command...
What he did not know was that Lucina had converted to the Technology God after the battle in the Northlands. Every soldier she had brought this time was a follower of the Technology God!
There were even quite a few fanatics among them!
Moreover, her sources of information were not limited to the capital. Much of it also came from two other fanatics—Viscount Rost and the Wild Mage... Whenever Lucina thought of those two, she could not help but show respect.
Although their titles and status were far inferior to hers, they had accomplished things she found unimaginable. Rumor had it that seventy percent of the military supplies here had been produced by the Rost Viscountcy... In just a few days, they had expanded their territory's workshops severalfold without requiring large amounts of manpower...
Goddess of Magic's Divine Kingdom.
"Book, how is the new feature coming along?" Roger watched everything unfold and could not help speaking again. "It is only adding a Group Chat function on top of Private Chat. How has it still not been finished after so many days?"
The sudden war had disrupted many of Roger's plans.
Roger had originally decided to temporarily put aside the Magic Web's new features and the civilian use of Magitech Devices, instead developing functions and products related to warfare in order to expand Faith Power as much as possible!
War was often the best means of gathering faith!
He was already very close to becoming a god.
His Divinity was only about five percent away from being replenished. This war should be enough!
