"Rustle!" A man in a blue-and-white Allied Forces uniform, bearing a small sun insignia on his shoulder with two golden wheat stalks beneath it, entered the command post carrying documents. When he saw the slender figure draped in a Lieutenant General's coat, quietly asleep over the sand table,
a trace of hesitation flickered in his eyes.
But considering the importance of the mission, he hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath and preparing to wake this respected superior.
Yet before he could act, the woman lying over the table seemed to sense something. Her steady breathing suddenly stalled, and she slowly raised her head.
As she moved, her long golden hair spilled down, revealing a face so thin it could almost be called malnourished.
Perhaps because she rarely got enough sleep, there were heavy dark circles around her eyes, impossible to ignore.
Her bloodshot azure eyes stared blankly ahead for a moment before quickly regaining focus.
She covered her mouth and yawned, patting her numb face as she tried to wake herself up. In a weary voice, she asked,
"Ha... is it afternoon already, Major Dillion? How long did I sleep this time?"
"You rested for a total of three hours this time, Lieutenant General Roxy."
"Three hours? What a terrible sleeping experience. By the way, what the hell are those people in the 3rd and 6th Legions doing? Can't they just hurry up and kill that damned Imperial old bastard, end this disgusting war, and let me get some proper rest? What a bunch of useless idiots!"
"And that damn Dormammu too. Wouldn't it be nice to just surrender obediently? Why does he have to increase my workload? This is driving me crazy!"
Roxy Sankaster irritably scratched her hair, but she quickly calmed down and turned her gaze to the documents in Dillion's hands, narrowing her eyes.
"So, what sudden situation is it this time?"
"This is intelligence just sent by one of our agents. It seems the White-Haired Demon General has made a new move. General Orco asked me to bring it to you for review."
Dillion silently handed over the document, then picked up a cup from the side, tore open a packet of loose medicine, and skillfully mixed a cup of mana stimulant for his superior with warm water. He carefully placed it before her.
"..."
Roxy drank from the cup while reviewing the document in her hand.
When she read the first half of the report, the corners of her lips curled into a faint smile.
Because everything was developing entirely within her control.
Whether that suicide squad had been intercepted by the Empire, or the Empire had extracted the supposed deployment location of the Anti-Magic Device from the failed squad and identified the so-called "real location" through analysis, all of it had been within her expectations.
As long as Dormammu took the bait, then under her arrangements, the Black Eagle Special Forces he was so proud of would surely be completely destroyed by this trap.
Once the Empire lost its strongest reconnaissance unit, it would be like losing an eye on the battlefield of Walden.
Then she could further crush the Empire's defensive line and allow the Allied Forces to claim complete victory in the Battle of Walden!
But when she saw the name of the person in charge mentioned in the intelligence, Roxy could not help frowning slightly.
It was not that the person Dormammu had sent was especially famous. Quite the opposite—he had never displayed even the slightest talent in the Imperial Army.
But as someone who had clashed with the White-Haired Demon General several times, Roxy knew better than anyone how troublesome and cunning this old Imperial general was. So, was this unit bait?
Or did this Imperial newcomer named John Maslow possess some unknown ability?
It had to be said, this unexpected feeling was somewhat concerning.
Roxy frowned in thought. After a long while, she slowly set the document on the table and asked Dillion, who stood beside her,
"Has the Bait Plan been arranged?"
"Following your orders, bait devices have been set up at the ambush point five kilometers away from the Anti-Magic Device cluster. The 3rd Legion's Iron Wall special forces will handle this ambush. As long as the Empire's Black Eagle Special Forces enter the designated area, the Speed Interference Field prepared in advance will allow us to annihilate them all."
Dillion answered solemnly. But when he noticed that his superior's tightly furrowed brows had not relaxed after hearing his response, but had instead drawn even tighter, his heart sank.
"Lieutenant General Roxy, has something changed in the plan?"
"No. That old bastard Dormammu reacted exactly as I expected, and as expected, he took the bait. It's just that I'm somewhat concerned about the person he sent this time."
Roxy waved her hand and studied the name in the intelligence with her azure eyes. After pondering for a while, she finally said,
"Dillion, have the communications department remind Lieutenant General Morgan. Tell him it would be best to temporarily send one—no, two combat units over to assist, just in case something unexpected happens."
"I'll send someone to contact the 3rd Legion immediately. Also, do you have any other orders, Lieutenant General Roxy?"

"Actually, I do. Tell the cooks to get me something to eat. I'm a little hungry."
"Understood."
"Tap, tap!"
Inside the command post, Roxy watched Dillion's hurriedly departing figure as the smile on her face gradually faded.
Resting her cheek on her right hand, she lowered her blue eyes. Her gaze slowly moved forward from the red pieces representing her own side on the sand table.
It passed the black Imperial pieces that had ventured deep alone into enemy territory, now under siege by three Allied Forces legions and barely holding out for a month.
Until it reached the empty chair at the far end of the sand table.
It was as if she could already see a certain eagle-eyed Imperial general being devoured by the Empire's foolish nobles after this defeat, forced onto the execution platform, and beheaded by the guillotine amid the jeers of the masses.
A playful smile appeared on her pale, almost sickly face. She stretched lazily and murmured with a hint of regret,
"Now there's one less decent opponent. That's somewhat regrettable."
