Upon hearing that, as though she had thought of something amusing, Wendy grinned at the puzzled Mia before drawling teasingly at the livid Myka, "Old bastard, looks like your intel is useless now, huh? Mia, come on, tell our great Baron Myka who that spy is."
Though she was somewhat confused about what was happening, out of reverence for the battle-crazed vice-captain, Mia answered honestly:
"Reporting to the vice-captain, the spy is Captain Baronov."
"In fact, ever since the day of the counteroffensive, when he led two Mage Soldier squads into an Allied Forces ambush in Bahamut Town, resulting in the deaths of the 13th Battalion's last two companies, Colonel Jett had already placed him under suspicion and kept him under secret surveillance."
"This time, after we reported discovering intelligence that enemy forces were hiding in Stone Village, Colonel Jett increased his vigilance toward Captain Baronov—cough, cough—the Allied Forces spy."
"Afterward, by successfully using the bait that Ensign John had discovered the Allied Forces' trap to induce him into passing information to the Allied Forces, we were able to capture him tonight. Also, Vice-Captain, shouldn't we notify the captain now?"
"No need. What Colonel Jett relayed was not bait—our brilliant Ensign John really did predict the Allied Forces' scheme and has already captured that dangerous Allied Forces assassin. You simply weren't in the camp during the interrogation, Mia, so you didn't know."
Watching Myka's face instantly turn ashen, his expression blank as though he could not accept this outcome,
Wendy immediately understood that the agent he knew about was clearly Baronov.
Once she realized there was no more useful value to squeeze out of the old bastard, she lost interest in toying with him and waved at the stunned Mia.
