Arrival at Chillwind Camp

Roderick personally led the last batch of troops out of Southshore, heading north. After resting for a day in Strahnbrad, they continued on toward Chillwind Camp in the Western Plaguelands. The Night Elf guard led by Lelandis and Karasha Starfall was also among this final contingent.

After several days of rapid marching, Roderick and the main force finally arrived at the human camp in the Western Plaguelands.

This military camp, built at Chillwind Camp, had originally been a simple encampment established by a Silver Dawn unit to monitor the local Undead forces. It consisted of only a few simple tents hidden among the trees.

Later, as the Silver Dawn forces continued to expand, reinforcements sent north by the Kingdom of Stormwind also stopped here to garrison the area. The Silver Dawn gradually enlarged the camp, building several houses and simple defensive works, but Chillwind Camp as a whole remained quite small.

Even combined, the Stormwind City reinforcements and the Silver Dawn troops stationed here posed little threat to the Undead in Andorhal. The two sides had always fought only small skirmishes, and no Undead soldiers had ever chosen to take the initiative to attack this crude, harmless human camp.

With the massive force from Southshore moving into Chillwind Camp, the camp immediately became unbearably crowded. Fortunately, Roderick had prepared in advance and divided his troops into three batches for entry. If more than two thousand men had arrived all at once, this tiny military camp would have been packed to bursting.

The existing barracks were only barely sufficient. Arnold directed the soldiers to cut down all the huge pine trees beside the valley. The lumber was used to build houses, while the cleared ground served perfectly as a military camp.
