The fighting at the front still showed little progress. After Marlene's forces rested for three days, Taelan alone was left behind at Chillwind Camp, temporarily placed in the care of the beautiful high priest Madoniel. Everyone else marched toward the front lines with large quantities of provisions and ammunition.

Tirion, who had originally intended to stay behind to care for his son, was also persuaded to join the battle against the Undead. This was an excellent opportunity for him to reintegrate into human society. After a brief hesitation, Alton convinced him, and he agreed.

In the temporary military camp outside Andorhal, Roderick, Abbendis, Grand Inquisitor Isillien, Maxwell, leader of the Silver Dawn, and all the Hearthglen knights discussed the future command of the Hearthglen forces.
