"You worked quite well with Mayor Heni. You had those two emissaries from Stormwind City running in circles." Abbendis quickly realized that Roderick had been putting on an act with Mayor Heni.
"Roderick, I thought you were really going to kill them in front of everyone. If you had, our relationship with Stormwind City would have been difficult to maintain." Augustine did not think Roderick had been acting. The killing intent he had unleashed earlier had directly stripped the other side of any will to resist.
During their many days of contact, Roderick had been radical in his thinking but normally gentle and refined, without any unusual behavior. Today was also the first time Augustine had seen the savage, ruthless side of Roderick's character. He had been ready to kill at the slightest disagreement, something rarely seen anymore in dealings between human powers.
"We are still too weak. There is no benefit in making enemies of Stormwind City. Raven Guard blades will not be turned against our own people." Roderick did not want to discuss those two detestable men.
As for earlier, Space Marines were only responsible for killing, not burying the bodies. At the last moment, Astartes stepped in with Mayor Heni and stopped Roderick from going berserk.
"Did Stormwind City respond to our previous request for priests from the Church of the Holy Light?"
"I asked the clerk just now. A small group of priests arrived in Southshore with the fleet. They should all be at the newly built church now."
The newly constructed church was nowhere near as grand as the old one. Though it was much larger, Southshore was still undergoing post-disaster reconstruction and had no extra money to decorate the place. The rooms smelled strongly of wood.
At first glance, Roderick spotted
