Scarlet Crusade's Chaos

The worst-case scenario appeared at once.

The Grand Inquisitor's next words pierced Abbendis like a blade, completely tearing open the truth she had carefully concealed.

"Some people actually withheld provisions bound for the Stratholme front and even tried to stop Scarlet Crusade reinforcements from entering the Scarlet Bastion. Does such a person deserve the Holy Light's forgiveness?" Isillien's unnamed accusation sent the knights present into an uproar.

Only then did Abbendis understand why Dathrohan had remained silent for so long. He and Isillien had already exchanged messages and joined forces.

Her attempt to test him had now become her greatest weakness and the evidence against her.

"General Abbendis, do you have anything to explain?" Isillien pressed her step by step.

"There must be something wrong in Stratholme. Dathrohan, he..." Abbendis said weakly, trying to justify her actions.

"And that is your reason for withholding military provisions and barring reinforcements from entering the city to resist the Undead attack?"

"Dathrohan led the soldiers against the endless Scourge assault on the Stratholme front. They were paying with their lives! Yet who could have imagined that their comrades in the Scarlet Crusade would stab them in the back?"

"Abbendis, after what you've done, can you face your dead father and the Scarlet Crusade warriors who sacrificed their lives?" Grand Inquisitor Isillien was too enraged to restrain himself after hearing her explanation. He could not believe Abbendis had truly done such a thing.

"Here are the letters Dathrohan wrote to me, as well as testimony from soldiers in Tyr's Hand's latest transport convoy. Among the troops outside are witnesses Dathrohan sent." Abbendis's ugly conduct had struck Isillien hard.

He continued feebly, "In light of General Abbendis's illegal actions, I personally believe she is no longer qualified to remain Commander General of the Scarlet Crusade."
